Recently renovated mid terraced stone built cottage (2014/2015) situated in the small harbour town of Amble within walking distance of a sandy beach and the regenerated new pier and delightful marina, set on the banks of the River Coquet in the beautiful unspoilt Northumberland Countryside. Boats trips are available from Amble harbour for either fishing trips or to cruise around Coquet Island, a RSPB bird reserve home to a large colony of seabirds, including one of the rarest nesting Roseate Terns and thousands of puffins who occupy the main part of the Island. There are several nature reserves nearby including Hauxley and Druridge Bay, where you will also find one of the most impressive stretches of beach three miles south of Amble. The picturesque village of Warkworth lies in the loop of the River Coquet and is dominated by the dramatic ruins of its 12th century castle. The bustling town of Alnwick, with its famous castle (Harry Potter fans) and gardens is within easy reach, as is the rest of Northumberland's stunning heritage coastline. Sailing, canoeing, sea and fresh water angling, golf, walking and cycling available locally.

“The Friendliest Port”
We had the most amazing time in Amble, meeting & chatting with people. So very friendly. All enhanced by staying in the very clean & comfortable Cuddy Cottage. Well appointed, easy parking, warm & cosy. Couldn't ask for more.
“Midweek break at Cuddy Cottage”
The cottage was beautiful and spotless. We had a lovely welcome, I say we the dogs walked in to a warm welcome of gravy bones, and treats. Our treats were in the fridge which were home grown tomatoes, tasted gorgeous and chocolate cookies. The cottage is in a perfect location for short walks to the harbour and beach which the dogs loved.

“Lovely holiday cottage in Amble”
We spent a very enjoyable week in Cuddy Cottage, Amble, Northumberland, a newly renovated cottage, very well equpped for our needs, clean, comfortable and convenient! Very helpful owners who provided us with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits- also a welcoming biscuit and towel for our little dog! Although we normally stay in a country setting, we loved the position of Cuddy Cottage as we were able to walk to the shops, harbour, eating places, beach etc and it was great not to have to use the car every time we went out. Amble itself is a lovely little town with big green areas for dog walking as well as the beaches and pier. We liked the harbour and Sunday market held there. All in all a most enjoyable holiday!
“Great launching pad for exploring Northumberland.”
The house was perfectly clean, tidy, and thoughtfully prepared for guests. The owners had even left milk and digestives for us upon arrival and a towel for our dog to dry off from the beach. The house itself was a pleasure to stay in, and we found the best ice cream we've had in the UK in town. We had been looking, however, for a house near a beach, which is advertised. But the beach in town is tiny and only good for walking the dog. The nearest extensive, white beach for lounging or swimming is in Warkworth, a long walk (30-40 min.) or short drive away (5-10 min). We loved the house, though, and found it a great place to launch out to the rest of Northumberland.
“Lovely well presented cottage.”
We stayed at Cuddy Cottage for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage was very clean well presented with everything you could want. Michael the owner was very helpful with booking and information. Amble is a good location to visit Norhumberland as it is easy to get to Bamburgh, Alnwick and to Newcastle. The village has an interesting harbour area to visit and you can walk to Warkworth to visit the castle.
