The house is only a few minutes from the pretty and historic town of Amarante.

It sits on the river Tamega - which is great for swimming ( there are fluvial beaches for all the family to enjoy) and some water sports such as SUP, Kayaking etc,

The town of Amarante is renowned for its pastries and also the region is well know for its excellent Vinho Verde.

Exploring the rest of the North of Portugal is very easy. The house is 5 minutes drive from the motorway networks and in less than 40 minutes you are in the heart of the Douro Valley, you can reach Porto and Braga. Even Galicia in Spain is an hour away.

Nearby the house is a great golf course and there is a small water park as well.Set in beautiful private and peaceful gardens with an elevated position commanding superb views from the top floor lounge, this substantial property is the ideal venue for a large family and/or group of friends to meet and enjoy memorable holidays.

The house has a feel of the traditional 'Maison De Maitre' that you normally find in the South of France.

It is tall, imposing yet inviting at the same time.

Set well back in its own private grounds of around 2 acres it has a long private driveway and is surrounded by well tended and mature gardens with various fruit trees including wonderful figs!

There are 6 bedrooms in the main house (sleeps 12) and there are 3 extra bedrooms available at an extra supplement (upon request) in a separate wing of the grounds ( just a few seconds walk)

There is for your pleasure and relaxation a very generous sized swimming pool at 10m x 5m - an all weather tennis court - and a games room with a full size billiard table and table tennis!

The house by virtue of its design is very shaded and cool in the summer and is very cozy with underfloor heating and central heating throughout plus open fireplaces making it very special in the winter.

Junior Suite/Master Bedroom with ensuite bathroom and a private lounge with sofabed seating that provides sleeping for 2 more guests. TV - aircon installed

Top Floor

Huge Lounge with massive views across the countryside. Ideal tranquil space to sit and read or listen to some music away from the rest of the house guests!

How do damage deposits work?
