Description from owner

Villa Phoenix is set in a peaceful hamlet and enjoys extensive views across the surrounding protected hills and countryside of Penina. The mature, secluded and fenced gardens extend to 1½ acres and benefit from extensive landscaping. Sun terraces and shady retreats abound and are complimented by a purpose built barbecue area.

The spectacular heated pool is a wonderful 16m by 8m, with a bubble jet spa having a waterfall overflow into the pool.

Large lounge, dining room and terraces with satellite TV, WiFi and air-conditioning to complete your luxury holiday.

The villa has been furnished with much attention to detail with themed bedrooms all including recently renovated en-suite bathrooms. Similar attention will be given to your holiday. Thus, should you so wish, the villa manager can provide evening meals, baby sitting, shopping and other assistance. Complete each day by falling asleep in one of the English sized beds having chosen your themed bedroom.

The Algarve region

The Algarve has the highest amount of sunshine in Europe and together with the beautiful beaches, traces of a diverse history, and sumptuous cuisine at very reasonable prices, the Algarve conjures up the picture of the perfect holiday. Leisure is the key in the Algarve, particularly around Alvor with numerous golf courses, extensive waterparks, marinas, internationally renowned surf beaches, motor-racing circuits and diverse cultural events such as the sardine festival.

Alvor

Alvor is regarded by many as a quaint fishing village but Alvor has the best of both worlds, whether you chose the busy streets with booming night life, the beautiful beaches, it's history or numerous high-quality but reasonably priced restaurants.

The closest beach is at Alvor loved by both locals and visitors due to it's wonderful calm waters and soft golden sand. Very extensive and so not crowded, it truly deserves it's blue flag. This fabulous beach is only 10 minutes drive away but there is also Meia Praia, Praia de Rocha and Praia do Ancao only 10km. Surfers amongst your guests may prefer the rugged west coast beaches such as Praia do Armado only 40 minutes drive away.

The 3 Penina courses are within 5 mins drive. Morgado, Palmares and Alto courses within 10km.

Finally for shopping, there are numerous local supermarkets and there is the recent 134 retail shopping outlet opened in Portimao which is 8km and the street markets of Lagos 15km.

“Golf widows dream!”

Reviewed 12 Jun 2013

After years of unsatisfactory holidays, our group of friends have finally found the holiday ideal. The golfers can get up early and drive 5 minutes or so to play golf at one of the many local courses whilst the rest of us have a leisurely breakfast and settle down round the pool without fear of getting a golf ball land in our coffee! The whole group is happy and especially one of us who needs to use a wheelchair. The revised entrance to the villa, path down to the pool and spaciousness internally means his independence is assured. In essence just perfect for our group.

“Wonderful location - Perfect place for complete relaxation”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2013

The journey from Faro to the Villa was appx 45 mins, we travelled on the A22 & had no issues with the road toll as the hire car company dealt with the payment. Our party consisted of 6 adults and 2 infants. From the moment of our arrival and throughout our holiday Melissa & Clive made us welcome. The villa is very spacious (the bedrooms are large) and has been very well equipped for everyone's needs, adults and children alike, from the extensively quipped kitchen to those extras, DVD's, CD's, Books, Toy box and Pool toys. The boat went down well with our family as did the jacuzzi. For us it was ideal that the villa accommodation is on one level, no worries about children and stairs! The only stairs being those from the utility area to the pool. The welcome food pack was unexpected (I must have overlooked that in the description) but was much appreciated. There are plenty of supermarkets available a short car ride away. Loved the secluded gardens and pool area, so inviting that my husband & I just spent the week in total relaxation.

“A superb villa, lovely location, great amenities and very helpful managers”

There were 9 of us in total, including 2 small children, on this holiday and we all had the best time. The villa was just beautiful, very spacious, everything you could want and more. Big pool in lovely surroundings, plenty sunbeds and with jaccuzi/hot tub The gardens at the front and back of the villa are lovely and we saw rabbits at night on the lawn at the back ! The managers, Melissa and Clive, cooked 2 lovely meals for us at the Villa and were so helpful especially in helping with arrangements for my partner's 60th birthday. We hope to return to Villa Phoenix in the future and thank Melissa and Clive for helping make our holiday one to remember !

“Villa Phoenix was great”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2012

With our extended Dutch family group we had a great time in Villa Phoenix. De Villa is beautiful and the pool is great. A lovely garden and a nice driveway to the Villa. We had a great stay, also because when we arrived all the shopping for us was already done. There were refreshments en something to eat. We were surprised by de spontaneous hospitality. We want to thank Melissa and Clive for there great help during our stay. Marjon and Ron Dorreboom Dronten Netherlands

“So good I've already booked again”

Reviewed 13 Jun 2012

Travelled with a extended family group, 2 grandparents, 2 parents, 3 children aged 16, 9 and 2. From Faro airport the villa is probably about an hours drive (if you drive slowly like me) and if you take the N125 it goes straight past the bottom of the road to the villa without having to pay the tolls on the A2 which can be a pain as you can only pay them 48 hours later at a post office or paypoint. Plenty of room in the villa and grounds that it did not feel at all crowded having so many people in 1 place. Kids loved the swimming pool and hot tub, plenty of toys to keep them amused and indoors there is a whole chest of family board games and books / videos if the weather was too hot for the 2 year old. The villa managers Clive and Melissa are incredibly helpful and live on site, to be honest unless you have a problem you would not even know they are there as they are totally unintrusive. When you arrive you will receive a very well stocked welcome pack and the kitchen has a range cooker along with pretty much every utensil and pan you can think of. All linen and towels are provided, I bought my own as usually I find there are not enough towels for the beach but I can confirm they all returned home unused as there were plenty of towels provided. The bedrooms are spacious and all have en-suite bathrooms and there is a washing machine and tumble dryer here if you want to use them - washing detergent is provided for your personal use. The villa also has wi-fi so you can keep in touch with the world along with British freeview TV. Things I really like about this property is that it is really, really quite here. There are electric gates to the driveway and a 6ft security wall/fence around the whole property so there are no chances of the children getting out and I felt totally secure in letting them play and explore the gardens. You will definately need a car to get around, but saying that there is plenty to do within a 15 minute radius. The beaches at Portimao are wonderful and the children really enjoyed spending time there, along with some boat trips out of Alvor where the staff arranged a treasure hunt for them on a deserted island. We also visited Zoomarine which is about 30 minutes away, again they all loved this but it is probably better for kids under 13 than older teenagers. There is a supermarket about 5 minutes away by car which stocks a good variety of different foods and we ate out 3 times in the local area, none of which was at all expensive and the food was excellent - even the incredibly fussy 9 year old could not get enough of the chicken. There is also a barbecue area with a fridge built in which we also used frequently. All in all a great holiday and I would highly recommend to anybody, so much so that I have already booked again for next year!

“A lovely villa in beautiful surroundings”

Reviewed 4 Oct 2011

A very comfortable villa for eight people. It is very well equipped and really feels like a home from home. The swimming pool and spa are excellent for both excercise and relaxation! The location is perfect-nearby there are all the facilities you could wish for but sitting by the pool you feel you are miles away from anywhere. Particularly handy is a very large supermarket and commercial centre-no need to go into town. The villa manager lives on site and is very helpful when needed but otherwise is quite unobtrusive.
