Please note that prices quoted are based on 6 people, but we offer flexibility to sleep more (see below), such as via optional extra suites or a sofa bed. There is also a pet supplement if applicable. Therefore, if you need any flexibility it's best to contact us before booking via the web site, so we can advise further.
Our normal changeover days are Monday & Friday with a 2 night minimum stay at weekends and 3 nights midweek, but we are sometimes able to be flexible if we have gaps or in low season- please enquire.
You are viewing the Stables and that sleeps 6-8.
Just to outline our accommodation, we have 2 cottages- the Stables is a 3 bed cottage with an optional en-suite 4th bedroom by opening up access to the Hayloft (see below) via the staircase area, which can be locked off or interconnecting. The Granary is a 2 bed cottage. Both cottages have open plan kitchen/ lounge and dining areas. Bedding & towels are included & the kitchens are fully equipped.
We also have 2 one bed suites, with kitchenettes- the Saddlery is a double has a lounge area and a wet room and is wheelchair friendly and the king sized Hayloft has a shower room and small sofa and TV area in the kitchenette. There is an optional twin with the Saddlery, but also the Saddlery and Hayloft can be locked off or inter-connected via a staircase.
There is a cot and high chair in each cottage and a travel cot available for the suites on request.
All units have access to our games room (with fitness equipment, table tennis, darts and pool) and we have parking for 7 cars, but we can provide over-spill parking if needed.
We can sleep 14 as standard in the 2 cottages and 2 suites. Also, in total there are 5 sofa beds (2 in the Stables, 1 in the Granary, 1 in the Saddlery and 1 in the Hayloft), plus we have an extra twin room accessed from the Saddlery if more accommodation is needed. Therefore, we can accommodate an extra 7 when needed. We can offer anything from a suite for 2 people up to a combination of cottages and suites to sleep 21, which is great for extended family or friend group gatherings, who want to meet up, but with individual family units benefiting from their own space and the associated privacy.
The accommodation is constructed from beautiful Cotswold stone dating back to the 1790s and is surrounded by fields and the stunning Oxfordshire countryside. It is ideally situated as a base for exploring the Cotswold region and is convenient for visiting both Oxford and Cheltenham. The historic town of Burford is less than a 10 minute drive away and the beautiful villages of Alvescot and Shilton are only a mile away. Both these villages have terrific pubs which can be reached by public footpaths and bridleways. The Cotswolds is a fantastic region for a great holiday, with plenty of historic places to visit and beautiful villages and countryside. Oxford's architecture is stunning and definitely worth seeing. The cottage is in open countryside, but still 5 minutes from local amenities.
The cottages are 5 minutes from the fabulous Cotswolds Wildlife Park. The animals are housed in the extensive grounds of an old manor house. The variety of animals is impressive and the gardens are stunning. There is a great play area and cafe.
There are great opportunities for walkers and cyclists, both locally and throughout the region. The cottage is close to Burford, Witney Lakes and Lynham Golf Courses and there are a number of horse riding stables in the region. There are spectacular landscapes and wildlife for artists and photographers.
The cottages are within easy reach of the superb shopping centres of Oxford, Cheltenham and the Bicester Retail Village. Witney is local too and it has a great new centre with shops, restaurants and a cinema.

“Thank you Justine & Andrew”
We arrived from all corners of the Uk for our first full family reunion for years and took over all of the cottages. It was brilliant. The booking with Justine was easy, with plenty of information proffered. Arriving, our expectations were exceeded. The attention to detail that the cottages have is amazing. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were gorgeous and Everything was spotlessly clean. All 12 of us ate in every evening as 6 of us have various food allergies and although 12 was a squeeze around a table for 8, the kitchen was so well kitted out it was like home from home. We all had a great time so thank you Justine & Andrew. That was in March and as soon as I got home I began organising a golf trip in August at the cottages again. There were 8 of us lady golfers and we all had our own bedrooms, staying for 3 nights. Such value for money, situated in such a nice part of the Cotswolds. We intended to go out for two of the evenings but ended up staying in with a whole evening spent in the games room!! All 8 of us thought they were fabulous so thanks again both. I am so lucky to have found these cottages and I am sure I will keep on visiting in the future.

“Lovely, well equipped cottage”
Just returned from a short stay in The Stables, which I chose for its convenient locatation for visiting Oxford and Blenheim Palace. Communication through all stages of booking was excellent. The cottage was beautiful and well equipped. I would happily return for a longer holiday.

“Fabulous base for exploring the Cotswolds”
We stayed in The Stables , one of 2 holiday cottages in this peaceful rural location. The cottage is equipped to the highest standard and tastefully decorated and furnished. As guests we were also allowed the use of the games room and personal fitness equipment . The owners are on site and we found them extremely helpful regarding places of interest in the surrounding area. The cottage is "pet friendly" and we took our Labrador on holiday with us , there are lots of good walks in this area . We are looking forward to returning this summer.

“The perfect home from home in the days before our wedding!”
I stayed at the Stables and Granary with my extended family in the days leading up to our wedding in Witney. The location was perfect for me to be able to escape the wedding madness but also be close enough to shops for those last minute purchases! The owners were very helpful in the months before and were always quick to reply to my emails and many questions. Now that we know this gem exists we shall certainly recommend it to family and friends when their relatives come to visit!

“Comfortable and fun for all the family”
The Stables was a fantastic cottage for our stay in the Cotswolds. The cottage was extremely well presented and equipped. Our party was made up of 2 families with 2 children and 2 toddlers. Everyone enjoyed their stay. The older children loved their loft bedroom and the toy chests were a perfect addition to the experience. The kitchen had all the necessary equipment, though the abundance of local takeaways and pubs made it easy not to have to cook anyway. The games room and gym was a fantastic bonus, with a lovely range of activities to borrow and keep the little ones (and not so little ones!) entertained. The weather wasn't great when we stayed, but we still had fun packed days out at Bourton-on-the-Water, Legoland and the Cotswolds Wildlife Park. We also enjoyed some lovely country walks from the doorstep and the cottage was a homely, cosy place to relax after a tiring day. Thankyou - we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to others!!

You mentioned during your stay about how light the rooms are and how that may affect children sleeping- thank you for the feedback, which is always welcome. It is a south facing cottage, which is good in one way, but we understand the point completely. We have curtains and blinds already as you know, but they are light in colour to keep the cottage cheerful, so we have fitted black out linings to the curtains and we have ordered a black out blind in a dark colour for the large rooflight in the loft bedroom. Hopefully, that means it will be bright and cheerful during the day, but dark when you want it to be too. Many thanks again for your constructive feedback- much appreciated.
“Calm retreat in great tourist location, spacious, well laid out & clean.”
Owners were very helpful in the lead-up to stay, answering all emails in a friendly, polite manner _ thank you! I stayed with a group of friends as weekend away before sister's wedding. Easy to find the cottages by postcode alone & lots of parking (even though we had 5 cars & there were people staying next door!) Supermarket delivery found us no problem. Lots of dining/kitchen ware which is handy as we stayed in both nights. Rooms comfortable & bathrooms on both floors ideal. Clean & crsiply decorated. We were very fortunate with weather when there (it's been awful recently) which meant it was actually on the warm side & also the light curtains/blinds made a lie-in difficult. I've noted to myself that I should take a portable blackout with me though as I'm a bit fussy! It would be an ideal layout for a family too - loved the toy chests, so may well be back with my little one & friends/family! Can't believe we didn't make it to the games room (one of the reasons I chose this property) - too busy gassing! During the day we went to Witney Lakes Resort, as recommended - very pleasant & only a short drive - & Woodstock/Blenheim - quite a long drive but always worth going out of your way for. Also went for a walk/lunch in Lechlade on departure which was lovely.

“great location, lovely property”
This is a lovely modern cottage but with character. The location is great, on the outskirts of a village with good local ameneities e.g. supermarket, petrol station etc. but you feel like you are in the countryside as the cottage is surrounded by fields with great walking opportunities.
