“A little gem in Altea”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2016

We stayed for 6 weeks in this delightful townhouse in Feb/Mar this year.We picked this property on the strength of the comments from previous visitors and we were certainly not disappointed. The house has been sympathetically renovated, having retained the charm yet providing all modern fixtures and fittings. It is immacutely presented ,spotlessly clean and maintained to the highest standard- which is increasingly rare in rental properties today. One of our favourite spots in the house was the enclosed rear garden room where we enjoyed many 'al fresco' breakfasts- and then in the evening up to the top floor terrace for a 'sundowner' or two - marvellous!! The property is set in the heart of the historic Old Town close to an array of restaurants interspersed amongst the narrow cobbled streets which offer a wide choice of dining experiences. It is ideally placed to act as a central point to visit local attractions. The promenade is an easy 15 mins stroll away, which offers an abundance of seafront restaurants with a vibrant shopping area just one street back from the front. The Owners, Sue and Pete are so friendly and are on hand,if required,to pass on their local knowledge (close - but never intrusive) We had a splendid time - so much so that we've already secured a 9 week slot there for next year- that must speak volumes for the quality of the accommodation and holiday experience. We have no hesitation in recommending this property to others and it would be remiss not to mention that the Owners also have two other excellent properties for rent in the immediate vicinity - check those out as well !! Sue/ Pete - Thank you so much - already counting down the weeks 'til next year - but will miss that little tap on the front door each morning from 'you know who' - bless him.

Owner's reply: Thank you both for your glowing review. We are especially pleased to read your comments on our high standards. We have always worked very hard to offer our guests the best possible comfort and holiday experience. We believe in always going that extra mile. You arrived as guests but we feel you left as friends. We look forward to welcoming you back this coming winter. ( All three of you!)

“Our stay was just lovely”

Reviewed 7 Apr 2016

We stayed in this house for the second time in October 2015, and will come again this year. The house is lovely in every way, and the owners very nice and helpful. And the location just beneath the church square is perfect. To be recommended!!

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely review. It was so nice to welcome you back for your second visit and now you have booked again for the third time. We are so happy to have such wonderful clients and thank you for taking such care of our home. We very much enjoy seeing your husband painting in the courtyard and you both enjoying the house and all that it has to offer

“Charming Hideaway”

Reviewed 8 Feb 2016

We couldn't fault this property. Everything about it was first class. Very well thought through in design, fully equipped with everything you could want. It was in a stunningly beautiful location just below the church and with lots of restaurants to choose from nearby. Sue and Pete, who live just round the corner, were exemplary hosts, with nothing too much trouble for them. Highly recommended.

Owner's reply: Thank you both for your fantastic review. We enjoyed having you stay with us, and thank you for taking such great care of the house. It was nice to know that you were so comfortable in the house during the winter time. We look forward to welcoming you back

“Perfect accommodation”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2015

We have just returned from a fabulous holiday in Sue & Peters beautiful town house. From it's luxury facilities to its ideal location it's just perfection. It's bijou courtyard is the ideal place for al fresco dining and pre-dinner drinks being verdant and cool with lovely subdued lighting. The bedrooms are furnished to a high standard and ensured we all slept soundly, even through the early delights of the local festival! It's location in the old town is ideal and it's proximity to all the restaurants and bars is perfect, the local mojito bar is impassable..or so we found. Sue was a delight, very friendly, helpful and available whenever we wanted any local information. They were the perfect hosts, and I enjoyed myself so much I didn't want to leave and will most definitely be 're-booking.

Owner's reply: Thank you all for your lovely review. It was a pleasure have such lovely ladies staying with us. You were all so vivacious and dynamic it was great to meet you. I really enjoyed our chats and hope to see you again later in the year. A special thank you for taking such good care of our home.

“Fantastic Memories”

Reviewed 1 Jun 2015

This was our second visit to Altea and we stayed in the same house as before. Again, we were not disappointed. The standard of the accommodation is very high and Pete and Sue (the owners) were extremely helpful. The house was spotless. Plenty of clean towels were provided, as were beach towels. The beds are very comfortable and the linen is of excellent quality. We love Altea old town with its alfresco dining around every corner. There are a number of interesting shops intermingled within the various cafes and restaurants. It’s very safe and we were happy for our teenage children to explore the area on their own. The beach is just a short walk away and local transport is good if you want to go further afield. During our stay we visited Les Fonts de l'Algar waterfall and Benidorm and took a stroll along the beach front in Altea. We are looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your lovely review. It was so nice to welcome your family back for the second time. We loved hearing from the children how much they enjoyed going for ice creams and shopping in the old town during the evenings. Thank you for taking such good care of our holiday home and we look forward to you staying with us again next year.

“A really great place to stay”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2014

Big thanks to Sue and Peter for a lovely stay in the Townhouse. It is in a great position, right up in the Old Town, just round the corner from the main Church square and the many good restaurants in the streets surrounding it. Despite being in the centre, it was blissfully quiet sitting reading in the leafy courtyard relaxing with a glass of wine. It also has a nice terrace off the second bedroom to sit and catch the sun. We will definitely go back as we had a great holiday.

“Excellent holiday in Altea”

Reviewed 4 Jun 2014

We would like to reiterate all the positive comments posted in previous reviews. In short – the house was in the perfect location near to the picturesque church square and a good selection of restaurants. It was wonderfully and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly require and Sue couldn’t have been any more helpful and obliging from our initial enquiry to our leaving. The added bonus was the beautiful weather. Many thanks Sue, and we hope to return soon.

“Wonderful house set in fantastic location”

Reviewed 20 Apr 2014

We loved this house and we really liked Altea. Beautiful old town, lovely coast line and good restaurants. The house itself was so comfortable and smart, with really nice touches. Everything had been thought through. It was a joy to be there. We loved sitting on the terrace and listening to the church bells. The courtyard garden was also wonderful. Sue was very helpful and friendly so we felt at home from the start. We hope to visit again next year.

Owner's reply: Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was our pleasure to have you stay with us and to know that you were able to relax and enjoy yourselves both in the house and also in the old Town. Altea's historic quarter is a very special place , and our townhouse also. We try hard to make sure each of our guests' holiday is perfect. It is therefore especially nice to read that you hope to return to us next year. We look forward to seeing you both again.
