The Valencian Country region

There is hardly any place you can better describe than the place where you live. Only seven km. from horrendous Benidorm and about 40 km north of Alicante lies Altea, a lovely fishing village not destroyed by skyscrapers, because local law forbids building more than six plants. Because there are only a few hotels Altea has kept clear of the mass tourism on the Costa Blanca. During the summer month every night on the small cozy plaza in the old centre there is a (original) handicraft market . All around the plaza are different bars and restaurants, from where you have a wonderful view of the Med, because the plaza is situated at the highest point of the village. Every Tuesday there is a market on the sea boulevard. For those who like theme parks at about 10 km. there is Terra Mitica. In Callosa, about 15 km. distance there are the Algar spring with a small waterfall. Continue another 15 km. and You'll come to Guadalest, an entire village built on top of a cliff.

“Wonderfull”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2015

Very nice house, garden and pool. Very help full "housekeeper" and poolman. The house have all you need to a fantastic relaxing Holiday. There is 2-3 good restaurants just 3-4 km from the house in a little town called Altea.

“amazing views, beautiful villa”

Reviewed 31 May 2015

a fantastic villa, brilliant for a family. Felt very safe. Very clean and fantastic facilities. The view from the pool is amazing, the pics do not do it justice! I do think a car is essential- we had to queue at alicante airport for ages to pick ours up- I would suggest collecting one from the company with the shortest queue and don't pre book! The only thing I didn't enjoy was taking bins down to town to get rid of them, we hung them out of car window, ha! We drove to eat out and only ate in altea la Vella once. It was fine, good value and lovely people. There is a large mercadona 10 mins from villa in car where we stocked up. Villa's bbq was great, speakers in porch also a bonus for listening to music around the pool. I really liked the privacy too. I've stayed in lots of villas where the owners are always dropping in, but not here, we felt very trusted just to get on with our hol! Thanks for a fab stay!

“An exemplary villa”

Reviewed 24 May 2013

The villa is situated in a prosperous tranquil area in the hills close to Altea. Thus you are ath the same time provided with both tranquility of the countryside and an easy access to coastal towns and beaches. The house is kept perfectly clean, all the appliances are working fine. The pool is pretty large, it is equiped with lights to keep you entertained in the dusk. Pine-trees surrounding villa make the air so lovely to breathe. All in all, this is an outstanding place to spend a few weeks.

“Villa Schiavone is a perfect place for a family holiday”

Reviewed 3 Sep 2012

Villa Schiavone is a perfect place for a family holiday, we highly recommend it. A spacious house, tastefully decorated, very clean, comfortable and functional. A car is recommended but not essential as the nearest town – Altea la Vella is a thirty minutes walk. It has two supermarkets, a number of restaurants, cafes, news agent etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are thinking of booking next year. Ellie

“Excellent, everything you could wish for in a villa.”

Reviewed 21 Feb 2012

I would like to say that this villa was excellent. It had all the amenities you need for a top class stay. Lovely barbecue area and outdoor swimming pool. Kept the children entertained all day. The kitchen was clean and well equipped and bedrooms were very spacious. There were some lovely restaurants nearby. All in all this is definitely a place we will want to stay again.
