Casa Almendros, our beautifully situated detached villa set in 2.5 acres of open countryside with mountains as a back drop yet close to a village - with all amenities, all less than 1 hour by car from Malaga airport. Set amid almond trees the property faces due South with 180 degree views to East and West from the terraces; it is easy to access via a concrete drive off a country road.
There are terraces to the front and side of the property with outside furniture for summer dining & sunbathing. However, as this is an almost brand new house the garden is an ongoing project. Swimming-in summertime there is a splash pool on the terrace plus a municipal pool in the village open during the high season.
Now with free WiFi.
Only a short drive to the World-famous 'Camino del Rey' footpath above the El Chorro gorge; just re-opened after extensive rehab.

The Andalucia region
At the coast - another world, but only 60 minutes away by car, are the beaches in Malaga, Fuengirola, Marbella.
For the more adventurous, we are only 1.5 hours from Algeciras if you fancy a trip to exotic Morocco - by fast ferry 25 minutes to Africa.
Antequera, 15 kms away, is a beautiful real Spanish town with much history and all facilities.
There is a superb 18 hole golf course, you can hire clubs on exiting Malaga airport.
Culture vultures will find we are very well placed to visit :-
Cordoba with its Mosque and Jewish quarter-about 1.5 hours.
Similarly the Alhambra is a must in Granada with its Moorish palaces and gardens - about 1.5 hours.
Sevilla famous for its Ferias, School of Equestrian Art and many beautiful buildings - about 2.5 hours
Ronda, impressive setting and the oldest bull ring in Spain.
Malaga itself, 1 hour, has much to offer both for culture and kids.
Antequera, 15 kms away, is a beautiful really Spanish town with much history and all facilities.
Overhead we have vultures, eagles, honey buzzards etc. plus the summer visitors of swifts, swallows, bee-eaters, and my new friend the black-eared wheat ear..
Several - where you can pick up bargains in clothes and shoes, as well as fresh fruit and veg.
Spanish food is plain and good, excellent pork and fish - we can recommend to you several around the village and in the nearby countryside.
Shopping – the village also has several little supermarkets, plus 5 bakeries, 3 ladies hairdressers, a butcher, Post Office, pharmacy and a 24/7 Heath Centre. The church and museum- lie in the centre of the this pretty white village with its cobbled streets, lying at the foot of the Sierra de Abadalajis
Our local village : Valle de Abdalajis, at 1.5kms is the hang gliding capital of Southern Spain - they jump off the Sierra to the North of the house, and somehow manage to land near the club house on the edge of the village.
Horse riding - we know several people personally who have good horses for hire – for hacking out on the many quiet tracks.
Rock climbing, mountain biking and hill walking are to be found on our doorstep - some of the best climbing in Europe is to be had here. 2 mountain bikes available for hire.
Close by is the lake district of Ardales & El Chorro - wonderful turquoise-blue lakes, where swimming, walking, picnicking, fishing are available.
