Location description from owner

The Andalucia region

The region of Andalucia is full of stunning scenery and things to do.
The local towns of Alora and Pizarra are traditional Spanish towns. Each has a weekly market, here the local Spanish meet and catch up over a coffee in one of the many small bars in the town.
There are small shops, such as butchers, grocers and bakers scattered around the towns. As well as a larger supermarket in each town.
Malaga is a lovely city to explore. The cathedral, the old area of the city, the port and the modern shopping areas all have something for everyone.
As well as El Chorro for walking there is Sierra Nieves which has some lovely villages to explore. The inland area of Spain has plenty to offer away from the hustle and bustle of the coast.
The glamour of Marbella and Puerte Banus can be reached in an hour.

Alora

The famous Wolf Park, on the way to Antequera, is worth a visit for young and old. T

he beautiful beaches of the coast are easily reached in an hour. The famous city of Granada and the Alhambra palace is a 2 hour drive away. Malaga is a 30 minute train ride away. “Stunning scenery, relaxing pool, wonderful holiday.”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2013

Our 2nd visit to Cortijo Jacaranda with our 3 boys and just as good as last year. Beautiful scenery, lazy days by the pool and lovely days out to Ardales Lakes, Mijas and Ronda. The hosts are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. Good food can be found in the local restaurants. We have already booked to return in 2013.

“Wonderful setting. Such peace and quiet. The kids loved having so much space.”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2013

The views across the mountains were spectacular, especially the sunsets. There was so much space for the children to play, including the pool and their own play area, so they all had a great time. The hosts were very welcoming and always willing to provide advise and help. This was the second time we've been now and will definitely be returning again.

“A Perfect Place to Relax and Unwind”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2012

We had a fantastic holiday at Cortijo Jacaranda. The location is absolutely stunning, with a panoramic view of the Andalusian countryside. The casitas are well equiped, stylish and clean, with the pool being a couple of metres from the front door. Lorna and her family could not have been more welcoming. The local restaurants produce great food and are very good value. We had a great time and will definately be going back.

“Gorgeous Fabulous Spannish Retreat”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2012

I have been lucky enough to visit this great place several times now and am always overwhelmed by the hospitality and cleanliness of the accommodation provided. That said, above all is the amazing 360 degree views and how wonderfully quiet it is despite being 10 minutes away from local bars and restaurants. I love the fact that this place is real Spain, gorgeous, hot and surrounded by the hills and natural wildlife yet you are within easy reach of all amenities and attractions. The pool is amazing and Lee & Lorna are incredible hosts and don’t hesitate to make your stay the best ever! Highly recommended to all and definately looking forward to returning again next year!

“Bliss in the mountains”

Reviewed 25 Jul 2012

Our family stayed in May and booked both casita's for our group. The casitas were clean, spacious and had the facilities we were looking for as an extended family with young children. Lorna our host also supplied bed guards, toys and books for the children. The play park was used daily and the girls (who are not water babies) had dips in the separate paddle area within the pool - which in May was a bit cold for toddlers and refreshing for us adults in the heat of the day. I had the opportunity to have a couple of pamper sessions which I can recommend to chill out completely and look glamourous - would be great for location for a girls chillax getaway. I would however recommend that you hire a car to get the most from this location since we went out most days to explore the lakes and the beaches. It is situated within glourious surroundings with wonderful unspoilt views of Olive groves and mountains. We will be returning. A get away from it all location.

“Stunning, tranquil & relaxing”

Reviewed 9 Jul 2012

My young family and I stayed at Cortijo Jacaranda for 10 nights in June. It was perfect for us, out of the way from the normal coastal tourism of the Malaga region, close to some lovely little moorish white towns for a proper Spanish experience. Hosts Lorna and Lee where welcoming and really helpful with providing toys and a buggy for our children, some basic provisions where provided in the kitchen, they also had plenty of local information and recommendations for day trips. While the cortijo itself was basic, everything worked and it was spotlessly clean and comfortable. The pool was lovely if a bit bracing! and the outside area was lovely for eating outside which we did for almost every meal with plenty of shade from the hot Andalusian sun. The location was perfect for us being well off the beaten track, surrounded by olive groves, donkeys & goats. However really well located for day trips to the coast, further inland to El Chorro and the lakes, Ronda via the amazing mountain drive, and the local towns of Alora, Piazza and Ardales. I would certainly recommend and visit again.
