Description

Jacaranda is part of a 300 year old finca and is just over a mile from the beautiful Moorish whitewashed village of Almogia. With amazing panoramic views of the mountains and countryside it is an ideal spot to enjoy both a peaceful, tranquil holiday yet be only an easy walk from the village with its 10 bars, specialist shops, supermarket, chemist, bank, tennis courts and post office. There are several terraces both covered and open so room for everyone to relax. The gardens are beautiful with many tropical plants and herbs, we have a vegetable garden and you are welcome to help yourself or maybe send the children down, almonds, apricots, carob, pears and nispero all grow in the garden. Many of our guests choose to have a massage or a reiki treatment here.

There are 3 bedrooms in Jacaranda, one of which is a family suite consisting of a small twin room ideal for children, a double room with king sized antique sleigh bed and they are separated by a family bathroom, this suite has direct access to the open terrace.
There is a twin room and another double with a king sized 4 poster bed and they share a shower room.
The sitting room is beamed with a log fire, ample seating and a dining table for 8. The fully equipped kitchen overlooks the covered terrace where there is a large dining table and chairs, comfy seats and a football table. There is also a bbq.
This terrace leads to an open garden area with seating, the path leads to further gardens and the pool area. There is a path for wheelchair access.
We are well placed for some of Andalucia's best attractions, El Torcal with its fascinating karst rock formations is nearby and has resident vultures and mountain goats, there is also an observatory here for star watching. The newly reopened Caminito del Rey is nearby too and whilst not for the faint hearted should not be missed. You can wild swim or kayak in the local dam 10 minutes away or just picnic and watch the turtles. El Chorro has lakes, gorges and wonderful walks and is about an hour away.
The beautiful city of Malaga with its many attractions is only 30 mins away by bus from the village, so much to see including many museums and of course the old quarter with its amazing tapas bars.
The coast offers every kind of leisure activity you could wish for and is 30 mins away, there are some wonderful beaches or go a little further afield and maybe visit Gibraltar with its British flavour and the infamous apes, or Tarifa where the Med meets the Atlantic Ocean and is a mecca for watersports of every kind, or just take a trip to see the whales and dolphins.
Antequerra a beautiful city is about 45 mins away and slightly further is Ronda with its amazing gorge, restaurants and shops. Granada and the stunning Alhambra palace are 2 hours away as is Seville and Cordoba.
Almogia is a friendly laid back village and you will be greeted by all as a friend, it has a restored castle and many fiestas throughout the year, all of which give you a taste of the real Spain, and you will be encouraged to join in ! Horses are still used as transport here, donkeys and goats roam the hillsides yet all the modern facilities you need are in easy reach including some excellent retail therapy in Malaga.
We have a small bar on site with a separate entrance where you can meet the locals, enjoy a game of chess, pool or darts and we have a seasonal menu using local produce and great puddings ! there is also a beer garden for you to sit in and watch the world go by.
We can arrange airport pick ups for you with an Englishman from the village, or if you want a driver to take you out for the day we can also arrange that. We do live on site but you will have complete privacy and if you need us we are just a knock away.
Electricity, all linen and pool towels are included in the price as is a generous welcome pack. If you want we can shop for you to your own list and then you can pay us on arrival.
