This property has a fantastic large balcony, ideal for a family holiday. Although nearly all Spanish rental apartment's have terraces/balconies, you should check their size and whether they are shaded. This particular apartment has an 120 square metre balcony of which half is shaded. It is ideal especially in the summer months, giving children a large, safe, cool place to play when 'at home'. Outside living in the summer is easy with a gas BBQ on the balcony.In previous years, from mid-June,to mid-September the Brisas De Almerimar development has its own cafe bar and small shop. They offer free Wi-Fi and there is also an air conditioned gym. The centre of Almerimar with its supermarket, shops, bars and numerous restaurants is less than 1km away (20 minute walk) but several bars and restaurants are within a 3 minute walk.Brisas de Almerimar is a residential community so the pools are only maintained and available between June and September. Each has a lifeguard.

To the east of Almeria we find the rugged coast of the Cabo de Gata - Nijar natural park. This arid desert landscape is sparsely populated. Visitors feel a sense of exploration here as many of the coves can only be reached on foot. This area is particularly popular with nature lovers and back-packers. The most popular coastal village is San José, a small coastal town with a marina, a sandy beach and numerous restaurants.. Between Almerimar and Almeria are the highly developed tourist resorts of Roquetas de Mar and Aguadulce. These are a short ride from Almerimar and have all the facilities of any modern resort including an Aquarium and Water Park. In the north of the Costa de Almeria there are the naturist beaches of Vera. A little further south is Mojacar which successfully combines the popular beachresort with the hillside white village that tourists will love to explore. Almeria city is worth a visit with the Moorish Alcazaba castle overlooking the metropolis.A visit to Granada and the Alhambra Palace is a must. It was the summer residence of the Kings and Queens of Spain. It is one of the world’s most beautiful sightseeing destinations. It is approximately a 2½ hr drive from Almerimar.In the summer, children might enjoy a visit to the cowboy theme park called Mini Hollywood. Located near Tabernas, a 45 minute drive away, it is where the 1970's spaghetti westerns were filmed.Almerimar is part of the town of El Ejido. The 50,000 population town sits on the nearby motorway and boasts good shopping, a 2nd division football side, cinemas, theatre and a local street market.There are numerous drives into the Sierra Nevada mountains which are rewarded by some stunning scenery. They include a drive over the mountains to Porto Ragua and La Calahorrah and a drive though white Alpajurran villages on the road to Orgiva.
The apartment is part of the development known as Las Brisas de Almerimar. The apartment was completed in 2006. It is a modern, well designed development owned mainly by Spaniards who either live permanently or use their apartment as a holiday home. The development is located 100m from the beach and overlooks a lake with viiews of sea, lake and mountains. Almerimar is a small modern town created in the mid-1970s with a golf course and large marina. There are many restaurants, bars, shops and a good summer night life. The Almerimar golf course is a 27 hole course established in 1976 and designed by Gary Player. Picturesque with many palm trees, lakes and sea views, it is a relatively flat course with broad fairways. Visitors are welcome. If you specifically want to play golf, contact the owner for more information.The marina in Almerimar is the largest on the Costa Almeria. It has 1100 berths each capable of holding 60m boats. Most of the bars, restaurants and shops are located around the marina. Almerimar has uncrowded sandy beaches with calm, clean, warm water. Lifeguards monitor the main parts of the beach in summer and there are facilities for the disabled including a buggy to assist bathers in and out of the sea . The beaches stretch along several kilometers and have attained Blue Pennant status. In 2010, several new beach bars and restaurants opened along the promenade offering good local fish and meat dishes. The perfect place for lunch in the sun or dinner on a warm evening. Sailing, windsurfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving are available all year round. Fishing off the beach is popular with the locals due to the large quantities of tuna in the local waters.Annually around the 24th June the locals celebrate San Juan with bonfires and BBQs on the beaches. Around the 16th July there is a fiesta celebrating Virgen del Carmen. The Virgin Carmen is the protector of fisherman and this fiesta is celebrated in both Almerimar and Balerma, another traditional Spanish fishing town 3km west of Almerimar.. During July and August the local council organises music concerts at the local castle in Guardias Viajes which is only a 2km 10 minute drive away.One of the dryest places in Europe with a micro-climate protected by the nearby Sierra Nevada mountain. With over 3,000 hours of sunshine each year, the average daytime temperature in the summer is 27ºC and in the winter is 15ºC. It is the perfect place to holiday any time of the year. With this stable weather and the underground wells of mountain water the land around El Ejido is intensively farmed bringing much wealth to the area. It is possible to visit one of the Fincas (farms) for a guided tour.Almerimar is a popular resort for Spaniards, many of whom own holiday homes in the town. Undiscovered by non-Spaniards it is an unspoilt town with friendly locals, and lots to do nearby.

“Great apartment, fantastic balcony, authentic Spanish town”
This apartment was ideal for us, as there were 4 adults and 2 children so space was key and I have to say there was plenty of it and the biggest balcony I've ever seen! The balcony became our main living area. The owners provided a bbq which gave us plenty of opportunity to cook lots of the lovely fresh meat and fish from the local supermarket. Almerimar is a gorgeous Spanish town with the marina at it's heart. The marina is a 20mins (approx) walk down the promenade which is a few mins from the apartment and the also where the beach is. I'm not mad about beaches so was really pleased that there was a pool within spitting distance of the apartment. All long the promenade there are bars and resturants (we'd especially recommend Cuqui) so plenty of opportunity to stop to take in the views. All in all we had a wonderful holiday and wouldn't hesitate in returning.
“Relaxing holiday with family in Sunny Spain”
We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday with our little one here. Apartment very comfortable and well kitted out and more than enough space for the three of us with one bedroom completely unused. Great location close to all amenities & beach. Lots of restaurants within walking distance with buggy and local tapas bars very receptive to children. Owners know area very well and were extremely helpful with recommendations of where to go both to eat, drink & visit. Would definitely go back.
