The architect won a prize for the design of the house which is split level on the side of a hill. It is surrounded by gardens that have been steadily improved since construction began in 1980, and is attractively and carefully decorated as a home.

It is a very relaxing place and perfect for winding down, with a lot of different spaces to fit larger or smaller numbers. It has views to the coast in one direction and over the village of Nijar and the mountains in the other. Many secluded nooks and crannies for sunbathing or table tennis or reading, hammocks. It is within a 30-35 min radius of a range of protected national park beaches. (Cabo de Gata.)

The land around is farmed.

**House is available for photoshoots and for business retreats. Contact us for more information. We have additional accommodation that enables up to 28 guests to stay on the estate.**

Location description from owner

The Andalucia region

The house is set within 30 acres of olive and citrus tree groves. It is a very relaxing and tranquil environment with views to both the mountains and sea.

The house is close to the Cabo de Gata, Spain's largest national park and home to several unspoilt and sandy beaches all of which are within 25 minutes drive of the house.

The pretty and unspoilt village of Nijar is 2.5KM away. Nijar is well known for it's local handicrafts which include the local pottery and rug weaving.

The region of Andalucia has a varied history and traditions. A lot of moorish influence can be seen in place names and architecture, and in some places the way of life has changed little over time.

Almeria

The coastland around Nijar is all protected national park, which means there are at least 6 beaches within easy reach that are undeveloped and unspoilt. There is the spaghetti western village to visit at Tabernas plus water sports at several of the beaches. The airport is an easy 30 minute drive from the house.

“Hot and happy times in the Finca Del Alamo”

Reviewed 14 May 2013

Yes, we had a great time, enjoying the pool, the local beaches in the neighbouring national park and the local attractions including the Spaghetti Western theme park combined with a zoo! Overall a great place for kids to play with a charming rural aspect and a diversity of exotic flora and fauna and a perfect antidote to the dreich autumnal Scottish climes.
