Description from owner

Description

Las Golondrinas holiday cottage is a peaceful, comfortable, hilltop cottage with air conditioning, and exclusive private pool, set within its own olive grove close to the historic village of Algarinejo. Located approx 50 mins from Granada airport and an hour and twenty minutes from Malaga airport. A car is essential and car hire is readily available from both airports .

It has been awarded a tourist licence by the Spanish Tourist Board. Set on one level, the cottage boasts amazing panoramic views towards the Sierra de Loja mountains and the surrounding countryside. The ideal getaway holiday destination, offering privacy and seclusion. Perfect for lazy days by the pool, walking the trails next to the cottage, bird watching and star gazing the night skies with no light pollution.

It has a large, private, tiled pool for lazing around in during the long hot summer months, along with sun beds and shaded areas for sunbathing and taking a drink or two !

The cottage has quality furnishings with one king size bedroom, a large kitchen/diner and sitting room, plus a fully tiled bathroom. Air conditioning offering welcome relief from hot summer days. There is a separate laundry room, complete with a washing machine. Immediately outside the front door is a beautiful terrace equipped with table and chairs to allow visitors to enjoy the amazing views over the rolling olive groves.

The cottage is situated along a good track which is easily accessible from the main road . Algarinejo ( 20 mins in the car) is the last village and old stronghold of Granada province, originally built by the Moors, and is steeped in history. This sleepy rural village has a few bars, a well stocked supermarket and restaurants including the award winning Piolas restaurant which offers a tasting menu of 15 courses of the local food. Free tapas is available with drinks - as Algarinejo is located in Granada Province. Other beautiful, historical towns and villages like Priego de Córdoba and Montefrio are approximately half an hour away by car, as well as beautiful Iznajar with its stunning lake, beach and water sports activities. A little bit further, however, only an hours drive away is Granada with its famous Alhambra and also Antequerra offering high speed train links to major cities like Malaga, Córdoba and Sevilla..

All in all this cottage provides an ideal central base for exploring and visiting the many villages, towns and cities of Andalusia. Experience the real Spain !
