Our holiday home is ground floor, private and secure and perfect for families who want their own space and privacy. Center facing on to the beautiful pool and recreation area of the Orada Resort and has been described by many of our previous guests as a real "home from home" on our apartment guest book..

We strive to provide those home comforts which make that important difference and make your family holiday an enjoyable and stress free experience rather than a survival exercise in the sun. We believe if the children are happy the adults have a more stress free experience and better holiday, we also believe that is why so many of our previous guests have gave us glowing reviews of their holiday experience with us.

Our property is also our holiday home where we spend many relaxing weeks relaxing weeks each year so you will not find it lacking or basic regarding home comforts. We are on a prime ground floor site on the beautiful child friendly Orada Resort right beside Albufeira Marina. Whilst our property is a one bed apartment with additional sleeping in the living area our apartment is actually larger than many of the two apartments on the resort so affords spacious living.

Both the resort and our apartment have been extremely popular with both couples and families being repeatedly described as a home from home on Tripadvisor and in our visitors book. We are grateful to all our previous guests who have written such kind words and strive to make sure no guest is ever disappointed.

Albufeira Marina provides eating, entertainment and all sorts of water based activities including cruises, power boat rides, dolphin searches, diving, fishing and scuba diving experiences. Alternatively enjoy a drink or coffee on the boardwalk and watch the world go by while the children enjoy the amusements.

On a practical side our villa is fully equipped with Bosch kitchen appliances including a large fridge freezer with usable family space unlike many token offerings we have experienced in the past. A large flat panel TV combined with a Media Player containing features for both adults and children and UK satellite TV provide entertainment when not out soaking up the Portuguese sun

Spacious lounge (25m2) with ample seating including a 3 seater sofa, a 2 seater sofa bed which also provides additional sleeping, indoor dining table and four chairs. Air conditioning unit for heating and cooling and exits through sliding doors onto a spacious and private secure ground floor patio area.


Wall mounted 40" flat panel TV, Satellite TV, Media center with over 200 available films for children and adults alike, Radio and a Tuner Amplifier complete with iPod connecting lead.


Large and private ground floor patio (17m2) and surrounding landscaped area which is enclosed and private on two sides. Double outdoor dining set with two lounge chairs and small table are provided for outdoor dining and relaxing.


Large and very spacious (20m2) bedroom with separate air conditioning unit, full height built in wardrobe including drawer sets and security safe for personal belongings large enough for a 15.6 inch laptop computer. Queen size bed, travel cot, bedside tables, lamps, two dressing chairs and sliding blackout curtains for main feature window.


Fully equipped with all Bosch appliances including full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, electric oven, gas hob, kettle, toaster, juicer, iron, ironing board, complete sets of saucepans, cooking utensils, glasses, cutlery and dishes.


The bathroom has bath with overhead shower, wc, bidet, sink and under sink storage cabinet, shaving/hairdryer sockets, hairdryer, marble counter tops, large wall mirror. All bath towels are provided but we do not provide beach towels.


Access to the apartment is ground floor, our apartment is in a prime location overlooking the central pool and landscaped recreation area of the resort. All access points to the resort are covered by CCTV and 24 hour security is provided by the resort.

A welcome pack containing essentials like Bread, Butter, Milk (semi skimmed), 5 ltr. bottle of water, tea, coffee, sugar, ham, cheese, seasonal salad item and seasonal fruit can be arranged through the owners at the cost price of £27.

The Algarve region

The Algarve is the Portuguese equivalent to the American Florida or southern California. The sun and sea dominate the atmosphere of the Algarve, bestowing on it the ideal qualities of a holiday paradise and making it the "Garden of Portugal". The area has over one hundred miles of the finest beaches in Europe and enjoys around three hundred days of sunshine a year. The region is dotted with Moorish villages with white washed houses and seafood in abundance.

One such resort is the town of Albufeira which is arguably the most popular Algarve destination for holiday makers. This is because of its established infrastructure and tourist attractions. Many tourist attractions like Zoomarine (the only place in Europe where you can swim with Dolphins), Slide & Splash Water Park, Aquashow Family Park, Jeep Safari's, Sea Cruises and water sports too numerous to mention have sprung up and are easily accessible from Albufeira.

Every town of any size has a permanent covered market, which opens every day except Sunday from 8am until around 1pm. There are usually separate areas for wet fish and for fruit and vegetables and some have butcher’s shops around the perimeter of the market hall. Larger markets also have stalls selling home-baked breads, cheeses, etc. Markets attract gypsies and peasant farmers who set up ad hoc stalls in the nearby streets and sell absolutely anything. Albufeira has a large market not far from Lidl and only a few miles from the Marina complex.

Albufeira Marina

Orada is a purpose built tourism and leisure complex which has been created in line with the highest standards and specifically designed to be enjoyed year-round. Restaurants on the adjacent Albufeira Marina include Italian, Traditional Portuguese, Fish, Seafood and Sushi providing relaxing and romantic dining. Orada reception has it's own snack bar, reading room, games room, internet access and toilet facilities for guest use.

Activities like Daily Cruises, Cave Exploration, Diving, Parasailing, Jet Skis, B.B.Q and Sunset Cruises, Big Game and Reel Fishing can be booked on the Marina. Or why not get picked up for a tour and tasting at the vineyard where Sir Cliff Richard produces his Vida Nova wine which is only a 10 minute drive or short taxi ride from Orada.

The complex is serviced by the Giro bus link leaving every 30 minutes from a stop just 50 metres from the reception area. 2007 saw the introduction of a tourist train which runs every 30 minutes from the marina to the Old Town. Other transfers can be arranged at reception to locations like Algarve Shopping for around €5.

Just 30 minutes from Faro airport and a stone’s throw from the charming old centre of Albufeira, is located one of the most attractive and bold architectural developments built in Portugal in recent times. The daring architecture of Tomás Taveira, the inspired urban planning of Sidónio Pardal and the gracious landscaping designed by Broadway Malyan, come together as a daring, though perfectly harmonious, whole to create an extraordinary milestone for European architecture and design.

Idyllically located on a coastal plain surrounded by low hills, this low residential density development is set in 65 hectares of land. Over half of this area is covered by landscaped gardens and paved pedestrian paths sheltered by many lines of trees; another 20% of the area is occupied by the lake and the Marina’s wharf. Overall, less than a third of the total development area is taken up by buildings, streets and parking spaces.

"A holiday we will remember very fondly"

This apartment delivered everything it promised during our stay last October. We have stayed in various types of accommodation and a well chosen private let is something to treasure, that is why I have no trouble recommending this apartment. The Orada resort is beautiful, spacious with loads of space for relaxation and landscaped areas, the staff were all very friendly. The apartment is ground floor yet private, very spacious and with really everything you could ask for. I really do miss having coffee and breakfast on the terrace with local English speaking radio in the background while my children played outside. There are various restaurants in the area and also along the 20 minute walk to the quaint Old Town of Albufeira which was very family friendly. The Nosolo Italia pizza / pasta/ ice cream restaurant on the Marina was a favourite of our children while Paragrafo 6 was our favourite for some value cocktails before settling down for the night. There was a large wall mounted TV and a player which was full of films for both us and our children, this was particularly useful keeping them amused when we were trying to get ready to go out. Ample food freezer storage and other facilities led to a very low stress holiday which was just what we needed, we thank the owners and if we return to Portugal we will look you up first. Friends often ask me what the difference is between private lets and other cheaper options and I always answer there is no comparison. If you are just looking somewhere to throw your bags and sleep then go for the cheapest option but if you are looking for a holiday home for a quality family holiday and the flexibility to go as you please then a private let is the only answer. I would still recommend doing your research but the owners of this apartment were more than helpful with the booking process helping us with information and answering our questions. The personal touches in and around the apartment made it obvious they take great pride in their little piece of the Algarve.

"A great apartment in a great location"

The things that make a holiday great are the simple things. We have a four and a six year old. Anyone who has kids this age knows that when they are happy, you are happy. This apartment is on the ground floor. You can get to and from the pool with all the gear without the hassle of stairs, you dont have to worry about young kids falling from a height. The TV/ entertainment system was great. Loads of great films for adults and kids. When you need time to make lunch etc. just turn on 20 mins of a movie for kids and get some peace. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bed was comfortable. The location was great for us. A short walk with the kids (15mins) to the very fine Castello do mar restaurant, the old town is another 10mins walk. From the apartment take a lift to the marina and check out some nice cafes. Nesolo Italiana restautant was good also. Take the red line bus for 1.50 euros to the old town, it goes every half hour from the resort. The apartment is on a private resort, with 24/7 security so you have no worries and the area all around like all of Albufeira is very safe. All the other guests were families or retired people so very relaxed atmosphere. We will definately stay again if we go to Albufeira. Its our third trip and this is our best accomodation yet.

"A great family apartment on a beautiful resort"

We have stayed at this apartment twice now and I don't really like calling it just an apartment as it is just like heading off to your own holiday home. The accommodation has all modern conveniences and is obviously either frequently used by the owners or their family. The resort which is part of the marina development is spacious and very well laid out, one day when I needed a rest from the sun I just lay about the apartment watching TV while my wife and daughters went shopping, gr8. Satellite TV, regionalised UK channels and a media player loaded with films for adults and children, UK plug adaptors and even USB charge plugs were all provided, I could go on and on. I don't normally do reviews but on the two occasions we have stayed here we were too disorganised and rushed when leaving to write any comments in the owners visitors book so please take this review as our thanks, and we do hope to return again soon.

"Highly recommended. The closest you can get to a home away from home!"

Had a fantastic week in July at this fantastically equpped property. Great, spacious apartment in a superb location in a surprisingly good complex. All exactly as described (in great detail) by the owners. Local supermarket was on the pricey side (and stocks a little limited) - although we found some great local wine in the portugese deli running alongside the marina at what we considered to be a reasonable cost.. We hired bikes from the Marina and went across the cliffs to the old town each evening where there is a great selection of bars and restaurants. As described by other reviewers it's a pleasant walk (or ride) into Albufeira - but probably not suited best to those who like a flat contour!! In the complex, we thoroughly enjoyed the pool area , suited well to adults and smaller children, and rarely had difficulties locating sunbeds. All was clean, and we experienced no problems with noise. Highly recommended - we'd love the opportunity to return.

"Fantastic place to stay"

What a fantastic place to stay. The apartment is brilliant with everything you need for a great holiday. The location is excellent, with a massive pool on the complex and easy access to the old town and fishermans beach. The owner was great to deal with and answered any questions we had. Everything was as expected and I'd definitely book again.
