Location description from owner

The Andalucia region

With an average of 320 days of sunshine per year, the Costa Almeria has arguably the best climate in Spain.

Almeria is easily accessible with many flights from the UK and good road networks from the surrounding airports.

There are several beaches in the province including beautiful stretches close-by at Mojacar which are popular with swimmers and divers. Here you will find several beach side restaurants serving delicious freshly caught fish. Garrucha is a picturesque little village with another beach that is great for families - with a children's play area.

Locaiba is traditionally Spanish, with superb mountain views and very little rainfall in the summer months. A wonderful peaceful location which is around a 15 minute drive from the Saliente Monastery and within easy reach of the main Town of Albox.

Albox

Casa Alba is in a tranquil Spanish setting, with panoramic mountain views, and superb light for those that enjoy painting. There are numerous walks in the surrounding area and various outdoor pursuits including cycling, off-roading and horse-riding to name but a few.

Within a short distance of the house there is the local village bakers, where you can take an early morning stroll for freshly baked bread. A pharmacy, small shop and bar are also within walking distance of the villa.

The Market town of Albox is around 5 minutes’ drive away with an array of restaurants, supermarkets and bars. Albox is a typical Spanish town with white-washed houses and narrow streets. It is surrounded by desert countryside dotted with olive groves and orange trees. A street market is held in Albox on Tuesdays and gives a real sense of authentic Spanish life.

The coastal towns of Mojacar and Garrucha are 40 minutes’ drive away and definitely worth a visit. For the young and those young at heart, the water park at Vera is 35 minutes away.

Golf enthusiasts will find several courses in the area including Indiana Golf Course at Desert Springs - 40 minutes from Albox, Marina Golf in Mojacar - surrounded by the Mediterranean sea, and the spectacular Valle De Este Golf resort 40 minutes’ drive just outside the town of Vera.

“Wonderful villa, everything you could possibly want.”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2016

Casa Alba is a truly superb, well equipped and furnished villa, its location is tranquil without being isolated and only a short drive into town. The welcome pack was a nice surprise, Melisa and Ashley look after the property and keep the villa, pool and jacuzzi immaculate and are not too far away if you have any questions. A real home away from home, my wife and I have no hesitation in recommending this villa. Thank you Irene its been a real pleasure. Paul & Carol

“Large, well equipped villa ideas for families”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2016

We stayed in Casa Alba with my daughter and granddaughter. The villa was exactly as described and had everything needed for a relaxing holiday. The hot-tub was great and everything was kept spotless by Melissa and her partner, who live next door. The villa is near to Albox which has a good range of shops and restaurants and is around 45 minutes from the beach. Would recommend to all ages for a fun, family holiday. Thank you Irene for letting us stay in your home.

“Second visit, loved it”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2016

Having been last year we knew we wanted to come back here for the peace and quiet, privacy, good food and sunshine. We weren't disappointed. The villa was everything we needed and we took to getting up early and going for big hikes before relaxing by the pool all day and using the outdoor BBQ in the evenings. There are lots of 'trails' to follow with some nice mountain views in the distance. The villa and facilities are great and we will be back again next year!

“absolutely brilliant”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2014

We stayed for two weeks in september 2014, we were met by melissa and Ashley who were great, the villa was presented beautifully and had everything you possibly want, the pool and hot tub was fantastic, the villa is close to albox (5min drive) where you can get most things, and a easy drive to the coast, we loved all of it. the one thing we did not like at all was LEAVING. thanks irene mike & karen

“Relaxing holiday, away from it all”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2013

Casa Alba is a lovely villa, in peaceful surroundings with stunning views. Our family enjoyed our holiday, relaxing by the pool and in the hot tub. It was an added bonus to have Sky TV as well. The villa was well equipped, and the aircon a blessing, as the weather was fabulous. There were plenty of umbrellas, to shelter under during the heat of the day, and watching the sun go down with a chilled glass of wine soon became a ritual each evening. Enjoyed a day out at San Juan de los Terreros, a lovely beach, not built up or too busy but with good amenities. We had wanted to explore more, but we couldn't pull the family away from the pool.

“Great villa with pool and lots of extras.”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2013

We had a lovely stay at Casa Alba, it is big, secluded and has all the mod cons you could want. The kids enjoyed the pool until 8:30 pm each evening.

“Beautifully presented villa in a peaceful and secluded location.”

Reviewed 30 Sep 2012

The villa was immaculate and was superbly furnished and maintained. The service from the owner and housekeeper was excellent. This was our first venture away from a package holiday, but I can honestly say it was an excellent decision - we had complete freedom to do what we wanted, when we wanted and had the pool, sunloungers and views to ourselves. The local town (Albox) had lots of shops and a weekly market to help you keep topped up with supplies (although you'll need a car) and our kids enjoyed the shorter walk to the local baker in the neighbouring village for a chance to try out their limited Spanish with the friendly shopkeeper. We had plans to travel the area, but enjoyed the facilities at the villa so much, we spent most of our time lazing around the pool during the day in addition to relaxing under the stars in the jacuzzi. The kids also enjoyed being able to watch a bit of SkyTV or surf the net (WiFi was provided) indoors when it got too hot for them, but they spent most of their time playing in the pool. All in all an excellent holiday and we'd definitely go back!

“Unique Holiday”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2012

A party of 5 senior adults we enjoyed a lovely 10 day holiday at Casa Alba. The villa is very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Irene is a conscientious owner who wishes to ensure guests have a great holiday. Within this the pool was serviced twice during our stay and the housekeeper Mel was on hand for any help or advice. The weather was also very good. Our airport was Murcia and we hired a car from Goldcar (booked direct) who provided a good quality vehicle. The journey to the villa was very straight forward and we enjoyed days out to Mohajar, Garrucha, Mini Hollywood, villages over the mountains and Albox market day. This combined with lazy days around the pool in a villa with lovely views and not overlooked was a great holiday experience.

“Amazing Villa”

Reviewed 15 Sep 2011

We chose the villa as it looked very impressive and decorated to a high standard - in fact the pictures don't do it justice; it is absolutly fantastic. Everything you could possibly want it had. We've have been to other villa's that just provide the very basic and claim to be luxurious but Casa Alba most definitly is. The lounge is huge with lovely cream leather sofa's and doors out onto one of the three outdoor dining terraces where we ate most days. The villa has sky TV, a DVD player, high speed wi-fi etc for those interested, however with such perfect weather - 30 degrees and sunshine every day, we didn't spent too much time indoors. All 3 bedrooms also have TV's - great for kids, and again furnished to a very high standard - I noticed it was Bo Concept furniture. The bathrooms are beautiful and modern - very stylish. The outside is equally impressive with colourfull gardens, and an orchard we picked apples and figs from - delicious. The pool and jaccuzzi is stunning and great to relax in once the sun goes down. There were plenty of sun loungers around the pool and umbrella's to give some shade; handy for luch by the pool. We used the BBQ several times which was great. The villa is about 5 mins drive into the nearest town called Albox, where we found some great tapas bars; we'd recommend Toni's and Triana oposite the Mercadona supermarket. As we had a car we investigated the surrounding area and had great days out in Lorca, the cavehouses in Almonzora, and loved the beach at Garucha and there is a fab fish restaurant there. All in all for a perfect relaxing holiday you couldn't choose anywhere more idylic than here.
