“cosy getaway”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2015

We were there 14 people in 3 weeks and enjoyed the stay. We spent most of the time out side in the swimming pool. The villa has a new bbq that is fantastic. The house is big, the garden is bigger and the swimming pool and surroundings are fantastic. The villa is a bit spot from the town so i would recommend to have a rental car thou you can walk to shops. Adrian is a great gay and easy to communicate with.

Owner's reply: Thank you for your great comment. I'm a guy but not gay. It was a pleasure to meet you all :)

“Great Xmas Break”

We stayed for 5 weeks at the Villa and were met by Adrian. The service was excellent throughout our stay. Both Adrian and Doina (landlady who lives on property) were very friendly and helpful. The Villa was extremely spacious and comfortable although décor is a bit dated it did not affect our stay at all. The approach to the Villa is on a bit of hill however we had no problems walking into town (even my 70 year old mum with hip replacement). Walking back was no problem either as there were a number of routes available. I must admit we spent most of our time at the Villa as it had everything we needed i.e. private pool with sunbathing area, open fire for the colder evenings. There is also a number of terraces, gardens, rooms etc to enable you to spread out. Overall the WIFI was perfect we had an occasion when it broke however Adrian sorted us out with a replacement until router could be reset. Only downside was no English television - but we had brought our own just in case! Overall we had a great time, very relaxing and enjoyable and we would definitely go back!

Owner's reply: Thank you for choosing our villa! You will be happy to know we have installed Satellite British TV.

Hi all, we had a fantastic two weeks in this villa in Albir, we have been to Albir 4 times now, its a lovey safe place to stay. The villa is large and comfortable, air con in all rooms plenty of linen and everything you could possibly need for self catering, 2 kitchens indoor and a summer kitchen. there is a washing machine tumble dryer and a dish washer, cots available on request. The villa is a little dated but catered for all our needs. The pool is large with plenty of outdoor seating, sun loungers and a large covered eating area where we always had breakfast or meals when we ate in. We mostly walked to and from the villa [ not for the elderly or unfit ] a taxi will cost you around 5 euros each way you can soon learn the route and we prefered the walk. The town is lovely there is a lovely outdoor night market on the beach front with things for the kids to do and spend their pocket money on. If you walk a little further past the market you will come to the Kactus hotel lovely for a drink and a meal. A trip into Benidorm is a must day or night in the evening visit the rock and roll bar children must be 16 in this bar but can sit outside [doors open till midnight ] fantastic acts on you will have a great night walking around the bars all entertainment is very good and its quite safe. A bus [ number 10] costs 1euro 40 cents will take you straight into benidorm. Groceries can be purchased from Consums and Mercado, less than minutes walk away. Donna who lives upstairs and we hardly saw was very kind and helpful . We would strongly recommend this accomodation for families looking in this area. PS dont forget the mossie spray they were a bit of a nuisance.

“A lovely stay”

Excellent service, Maria was especially nice and very helpful. The villa was spacious with pleasant surroundings, the swimming pool was a great feature. It was a twenty minute walk to centre of Al Bir although a taxi was needed to do shopping water etc as it was all up hill on return. Al Bir was a great location with plenty of bars and restaurants. Benidorm was only a twenty minute bus ride with a regular service and only 1.50 euros each way. An electric kettle in both kitchens would been of benefit as using kettle on gas ring was heavy and difficult to use. Overall everyone enjoyed their stay.

“Lovely villa with great pool/bar area and views of the mountains.”

I have just returned with 6 of my family from this villa and we had a great stay. The villa is around 10 minutes walk into Albir, where there are plenty of supermarkets, restaurants and bars. The return to the villa is up a very steep hill and the walk is only recommended for the fit, although there are taxis easily available in Albir, we found many drivers struggled to find it so when there were two taxis with us in we had to make one person was in each who knew the directions (which when they take shortcuts and get lost doesn't make the task any easier!) This of course is nothing to do with the villa and we may have just been unlucky with the drivers, but to be honest we spent so much time around the pool at the villa it wasn't really an issue anyway. It is around €12 euro each way for a taxi into Benidorm and probably took us 10 mins max. We only visited once, but there is a bus service available for hl those wanting to visit more frequently (only €1.20 I believe and takes around 40 mins) The villa itself is very spacious and has a lovely pool and bar area. We spent many days and nights around the pool listening to music and eating with the family. There was no wifi at the property, however we managed to get it through out phones/tablets and paid the network for a package. We took a Bluetooth speaker to listen to around the pool and connect out phones to. There Are two kitchens and three showers. Maria met us at the property and was a very warm and friendly person. She showed us around the villa and gave us directions into town. Adrian, who handled the booking, was also very polite and professional, and was a pleasure to deal with. We would definitely stay in the villa again, as we has a great time and planned to spend a lot of time at the villa.

Owner's reply: Hello, we are very greatful for your positive comment. The streets in Albir Sierra Helada's mountainside can be confussing I know by experience. Now I know them well and I never get lost, it wasn't like that when I started working with El Ancla. Now we are reccomending every group to print the maps we send them before comming, also we normally meet our clients in the centre of town to show the best way, once you know it, using the two main ways to the villa (from Benidorm and from Albir) it is easy to find. There is wi-fi in the village, I needed to give you the code, I'm sorry, Maria was not aware that there was wifi in El Ancla and she said there wasn't. We will put a frame on the paper and hang it in the living room so it's public for all our groups in the future. The connection is very good. Thank you for choosing this villa. We are very happy to hear that we were usueful during your holiday, we work hard to offer each group great experience, we are glad you had a great time. Adrian
