Full size pool shared with just one other trullo. Shade/umbrellas/sun loungers/poolside towels all ready for you, External dining table and chairs for al fresco dining. Then countryside for miles around. Many trulli have noisy next door neighbours in close proximity. In this case apart from one other trullo (owned by same owner) there is nothing but rolling countryside. Yet the town is just a few minutes' drive away. You have your own private olive grove to explore!
We visited over 100 properties before finding the right place with the right views and surround, yet convenient for all facilities. This is our little bit of heaven.

The Puglia region
Puglia is where the Italians holiday. Hot in summer, but not too hot in the hills (typically around 30c) as a breeze cools things down. 20c in the Spring and Autumn. Enough rainfall to keep things green - not barren. Miles of beaches, small hillside villages and streets literally made of marble that have been unchanged since the middle ages.
Like Tuscany was 30 years ago. You'll hear almost exlcusively Italian. Puglia is full of history and culture. All village centres have churches 100s of years old, the unique "trulli" - listed as World Heritage interest (ours is one of only 5000 in existence). Wine, famously delicious food. Puglia is about a healthy, steady pace of life, steeped in history.
Alberobello is the Trulli Capital of the world. Just 5000 trulli exist, 2000 are in Alberobello. A fascinating town to stroll about. Just 15km away are literally dozens of beaches along the skarling Adriatic coastline.
Ostuni, "the White City", lerally with streets of marble. The world famous Castellan caves, the mystical Castel del Monte. Lecce, the Queen of Baroque. Many Roman ruins. There is nowhere else like this.

"Idyllic spot with amazing pool. Short drive to great restaurants."
Beautiful remote spot yet only a 5 min.drive from Alberobello. We have never had a more perfect pool - fabulous temperate which made for numerous lazy days with happy kids. Comfortable beds and good a/c. Lovely outdoor area for dining. Things to note: Italian driving in Puglia is somewhat haphazard, so allow more time for day trips than estimated; also the beaches in August are packed and not brilliantly signposted. We didn't spend the lazy days at the idyllic beaches that we had anticipated, but we had a wonderfully relaxing holiday and made the most of the very homely trulli. Trips: Lecce is worth the 90 min trip. Alberobello is lovely. Martina Franca definitely worth a visit. Both restaurants on the road into Alberobello are very good and satisfyingly inexpensive. The villa was very comfortable but take plenty of mosquito spray if travelling in July / August. Hob with microwave oven was useful one evening. Very useful laundry room on site. We spent plenty of nights sitting under the stars listening to the nocturnal wildlife. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable place to stay for a relaxing holiday.

Myself and my husband stayed in the larger Trullo for a week in June 2014. We had the place to ourselves for most of our stay, which really made it feel like a belated luxury honeymoon destination. Such a beautiful setting, peaceful, spotless interior, private pool and amazing views. Could not have asked for more out of our holiday rental, we really got to chill out and relax. Loved walking along fields nearby. Having wifi was a real plus, as it meant I could download new books onto my kindle. Had some cracking storms to watch as well! Really hoping to go back at some point and maybe bring some friends too. Only tiny negative was the somewhat confusing oven - could not really work out how to use it. But we mainly ate pasta in any case so not really an issue. As others have indicated, you will need a car to get around. Therefore a word of warning for drivers in general - make sure you a confident driver when driving in Italy, the south of italy in particular, and especially the lanes reaching the trulli. But since the wine in Puglia is so cheap and lovely, you wont want to do much driving when faced with the prospect of sitting by the pool and having a few glasses of vino!!!

"A peaceful place to visit a wonderful region"
It was our second stay at Trullo Olivo in this wonderful region of Puglia and we enjoyed it even more than the first time. The view is wonderful. Our neighbours were very quiet. It was perfect. The trullo is very comfortable and well equipped. The new sofa and the air conditionning in the bedrooms are both great implementations. The swimming pool has now a heating system and it was almost too warm! We look forward to going back.

"Thoroughly enjoyable experience"
We had a fantastic time and the trullo surpassed our expectations. We were really surprised how light and airy it was. And tastefully equipped We had 5 days of very cold wet weather from the Balkans so we got plenty of sightseeing done before spending most of the last 5 days by the solar heated pool, taking in the view and enjoying the peace and quiet. The local restaurants were excellent. We would certainly like to return.
Glad you enjoyed yourselves despite what sounds like pretty freakishly bad weather!

"rural idyll in the heart of Puglian countryside"
Very peaceful with lovely views - too easy to spend the day doing nothing! Car absolutely essential and track to villa pretty bumpy but worth it. Plenty to see and do in Puglia. If we are being picky, the only downside to trullo was lack of electric sockets in the kitchen area and no DVDs (would be helpful to know this so you can take your own). Whilst I have said below that the deposit wasn't returned on time, it was returned as soon as this was requested - don't forget to make sure you get it back!

"ideal puglian summer"
we spend 2 weeks in august..trullis are nicely decorated..the location is very quiet..we saw 2 car from the terrace in 2 weeks!!!!! 3 km away from the touristical but interesting city of alberobello..you can also discover the beautiful city of locorontondo 5 km away, martina franca, my favourite is 10 km away ( go to the tripoli cafe for a granite di caffe con pana!!!!)...our favourite beaches were in ostuni coast....need a 45 min drive but u can stop in lido tavernese 10 km closer on the ss16....so enjoy the local life during the morning with the amazing local food markets....relax in the beautiful swimming pool and finish the day in the beach if u like
