“Has the wow factor until you see otherwise.......”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2012

Stayed at Villa Con Vista and found the Villa beautifully presented although we had some problems here are a FEW -flood from the air conditioning in one bedroom (we had just arrived) it took two days to fix which resulted in my husband having to sleep downstairs for two nights as it was swelteringly hot and due to logistical reasons of our party and due to buzzing from another air con unit. The water ran out for two nights and there was mould on the bathroom walls and blown plaster on the walls in the Villa. There were only two sunbeds we were four people. I was offered 20% discount on next years prices?! as a goodwill gesture but given the nightly ratet we paid I did not accept this offer. We wre given reasons for our findings from the Owner but this frankly is not not good enough. We made the most of the week and had a good stay, luckily we had two more weeks elsewhere.

Owner's reply: Obviously, we are always keen to hear feedback, and we are sorry to hear that Villa Con Vista did not meet our guest’s expectations on this particular occasion. Prior to this, we had no serious problems with the air conditioning units, and they have operated faultlessly since. Being in a secluded and rural part of Italy, 48 Hours to have the air conditioning unit attended to and fixed we feel is actually very good. Clearly we would have preferred this not to happen in the first place, but as with any house with electrical appliances, despite regular maintenance, these things very occasionally happen. The local commune (council) controls the water supply in the area, and sometimes regulates to private residences during exceptionally hot summers, at night when required. We provide all of our guests with our home and personal mobile numbers. We are always happy to take guests' calls and would have been happy to explain how to switch over to the alternate water supply if this was required

“Fantastic villa in wonderful location.”

This was our second stay at Villa Con Vista - stayed here last year as well. Spacious and airy, beautifully decorated, extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean. Tranquil location in rural Italy. Ideal for a relaxing break, but within reach of popular attractions such as Pompeii, Versuvius etc. Amazing views from the terrace, particularly the sunsets. Decent size pool and ample parking.

“Amazing villa, wonderful views, temples and buffalos - a great holiday.”

Reviewed 18 Aug 2011

There were five of us with ages ranging from 6 - 60+ and the holiday at Villa con Vista suited all of us. The three children spent most of their time in the pool, the adults read in the shade of the fig tree with trips to the beach, the temples and Albanella and Matinella to shop in between. The house itself was cool even though the temperatures were in the high thirties when we stayed. It was amazingly well equipped and spacious. I love the Greek temples at Paestum, which was one of the reasons I chose this villa and they, and the sandy beaches were about half an hour away, once we had worked out the route ! The roads away from main roads were very rough, so watch out for this. An added bonus which we had not expected were the buffalo farms, and we could hear the milking early in the morning and went to visit a farm. We ate well in Albanella although it was just that bit too far to walk in with the children. I am looking forward to returning with another part of my family in October when we hope to follow some of the paths nearby in the cooler weather.
