My name is Josefina Novo and I'm the owner of the house Alojamiento Vista Blanca. All my family works to maintain the house, specially my husband, José Manuel, who takes care practically of everything.

The house Alojamiento rural vista Blanca is in the village of Cenes de la Vega, the first town on the way to Sierra Nevada. The house is located in the centre of the town, near the health centre, riding centre and there are 3 supermarkets.

It is strategically placed to reach the major attractions of Granada and its surroundings – 4 km from the city centre, 25 km from the ski resort of Sierra Nevada, 3 km from the Alhambra Palace and it has an easy access to the motorway 'Ronda Sur de Granada'

The house was made build 26 years ago to live there with all our family. A main advantage is that it's built in a single floor occupying an area of 500 m2. My husband, my two children and myself have lived in this house until 2006.

We placed the chalet, of 160 m2, at the center of the plot. It is a rural very luminous house and all the rooms are exterior.

The spaces are very well distributed:


In the hall, we find a corridor which continues to the left. Just to the right, there is a lounge, and opposite we can see the kitchen. The corridor continues to the left, and there are 5 doors: the first one to the right, which is the main bathroom, and 4 rooms.

Description of every room

Living room:

The house has a big lounge with a fireplace, very comfortable specially in winter. The lounge has 2 doors: the one in front of the hall, the other which gives to the kitchen-living-room to eat if you choice.

Satellite TV, DVD player, Sound system...

Kitchen-dining room:

big, bright, spacious and very well fitted out with all the household electrical appliances (gas stove, oven, dishwasher, fridge with big to surgeleur, microwaves, barkeeper (coffeepot), toaster, etc.

We find two spaces clearly differentiated there.


with cooking gas stove, oven, dish washer, microwave, fridge freezer. It also has all the essential small electrical appliances: coffee maker, toaster, mixer…

The household of cooking is very complete. Nothing will miss you.

Dinning room:

Arabic Stone floor. Walls as well as ceiling are of covering wood.

it's has a piece with furniture (which we made build) and a big window, under the garage

To the left, we have the laundry, where there is a washing machine as well as domestic tools. There is also an iron and an ironing board. There is a door which gives to an outside corridor. Once outside, to the right there is a zone to make barbecues, and to the left there is a very pleasant covered terrace, ideal in summer, and very close to the swimming pool.

Main bathroom:

Very big and beautiful. We find a big round bathtub of 1'60 m of diameter. There is also a wc, a bidet and 2 washbasins. There is a big custom-made mirror , of 2 m x 1'5 m, with lamps of pane of Murano.

Room 1:

He has a queen-size bed, 2 bedside tables, a custom-made wall cupboard and a window which looks to the covered terrace.

Room 2:

with 1 queen-size bed, 2 bedside tables, a wall hand-made cupboard, and a window which faces to the garden, the lawn and the swimming pool.

Room 3:

It is the biggest of all of them. It has 3 beds, 2 bedside tables, a bathroom and a big closet. From the windows, you can see the terrace of entrance.

Room 4:

with 1 queen-size bed, 2 bedside tables, a wall closet and a window which faces to the garden and the terrace of entrance.


Garage :

We access the garage by a street, perpendicular to the main street. There is place for 2 cars. To the left there are some staircases to arrive into the main terrace of entrance.

Between the outside door and the internal door of the garage there are rosebushes.

Main terrace:

Towards the environment (middle), more or less, and in front of the house's door, there are other staircases, which correspond to the main entrance. At the end of the terrace there is a garden with fruit trees.

70m2, who serve especially to isolate the zone of the swimming pool from the street. We have 2 fig trees, 1 cherry tree, 2 pear trees, 1 orange tree and 1 to citronier.

Swimming pool:

Available only during the months summer. We cover it in winter.

The dimensions are: 8 m x 3 ' 5 m. The ground, in a graduation, goes from 1 m to 1'50 m. It's covered with a special stone floor for swimming pools, blue color, and with a dolphin as decoration motive. It has 3 lights: 2 in a side, and the other one on the ground.

The arrangement of the swimming pool is exclusively made by the owner.

Next to the swimming pool there is a bathroom, with a shower, toilets and a washbasin.

Between the swimming pool and the covered terrace which is situated in the posterior part of the house, there is approximately 60m2 of lawn, what favors a microclimate which makes specially pleasant our house in summer.

Covered terrace:

ideal as stay. You can eat in family or with friends, near the swimming pool, and near the zone of barbecue.

Equipped with garden furniture: big garden table in resin, 8 chairs and 2 armchairs multiposition equipped in pillows, as well as 3 deckchairs of swimming pool, and a tv.

The barbecue is near to the kitchen and the covered terrace.

Near the house there is a health center and all business you need: a pharmacy, 3 supermarkets (Covirán, Spar and Día), 2 stations of service, very good restaurants and many tapas bars. About that, you must know that, in Granada, tapas are served free with drinks.


There is a school of paragliding, a riding school, an acuatique park and a municipal stadium in Cenes de la Vega.

Sierra Nevada is near,about 25 km, so you can realize all the snow sports.


There can't be many cities in the world where a visitor, on the same day, and no more than two hours away by car, can swim in the warm waters of a stunning tropical beach and then spend an afternoon skiing, in the Southernmost mountain ski resort in Europe, equipped with the most modern facilities, the Sierra Nevada.

CULTURE: Monuments and places of great historical interest

Granada has a rich artistic and cultural legacy from its splendid Moorish and Christian past, spanning thousands of years of history. The variety of artistic styles, the high quality musical and theatrical activities, as well as the wealth of traditions the local inhabitants maintain, means that culture is one of the distinguishing features of the province, and its major tourist attraction.

Alhambra: The Alhambra is the jewel in the crown, the best- preserved & oldest Moorish palace, and the most visited monument of Spain.

Granada Cathedral: The Cathedral is the first Renaissance church built in Spain and is one of the most important monuments of Granada.

Royal Chapel: The Royal Chapel is the burial place of the Catholic Monarchs and one of the most interesting monuments of Granada.

The historic centre of Granada is a perfect spot to take a stroll through the streets and districts, especially the Albaicín, one of the most authentic parts of the city. It was declared a World Heritage Site, and, although it is an old Arabic district, it still conserves remains from its Iberian and Roman past. As it is built on a hill, it is ideally placed to admire the rest of the city. The views of the Vega plain and the Alhambra are unbeatable from the terrace of San Nicolás. Other districts with plenty of local charm include the Sacromonte, with its caves and Flamenco zambras (dance celebrations); the Realejo, the old Jewish quarter; the Alcaicería, the former silk market; and the Calderería.


LOCAL TIME The same time applies as in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, corresponding to Greenwich Mean Time, (GMT), adding one hour in winter and two hours in summer.

MUSEUMS AND MONUMENTS : Opening times to visit the historical monuments in Granada can vary greatly. Some, like the Alhambra, are open all day to the public, and others, such as the Cathedral or the Royal Chapel, close at midday. Many churches are only open during worshipping hours. You can consult the exact opening times in the Museums and Monuments Tourism section. These timetables are for guidance, and are liable to changes.

SHOPS AND STORES: They are open from Mondays to Fridays, 10.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 20.00 and on Saturdays from 10.00 to 14.00. The department stores and some shops don't close at midday or on Saturday afternoon.

RESTAURANTS: Breakfast is served between 8.00 and 10.00 in the morning. The midday meal is usually served in restaurants between 13.00 to 15.30, whereas the evening meal, or cena is from 20.30 until 23.00. The pubs, drinking bars and discothèques usually stay open until 3.00 or 4.00 in the morning.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT: The city buses of Granada start running at around 7.00, and service stops around 23.30.

BANKS : The banks´ opening hours to the public are usually Mondays to Fridays, from 8.30 to 14.00. They sometimes open on Saturdays from 8.30 to 13.00 in winter, but not in summer.

PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS : The Public Administration offices are open on Mondays to Fridays from 08.00 to 15.00.

TOURIST INFORMATION OFFICE OF THE PATRONATO PROVINCIAL : Mondays to Fridays: 09.00 to 20.00. Saturdays: 10.00 to 19.00. Sundays and public holidays: 10.00 to 15.00.


Granada shops usually open at 10 a.m. and close between 1.30 and 2 p.m., opening again between 4.30 and 5 p.m. In winter (a little later in summer) and closing finally at 8.30 p.m. (9 p.m. in summer).

They are closed on Sundays and feast days and occasionally on Saturday afternoons, with the exception of the larger department stores which open on some Sundays during the year, at Christmas and during the Sales.

Bars and restaurants serving food and tapas open around 1 p.m. and close about 4 p.m. Evening opening times are about 8 p.m. and closing time is between 11.30 p.m. and midnight. Bars serve tapas while the kitchens are open, more or less within the above hours. Cafeterias or bars serving breakfast open very early, some even before 7 a.m. and others a little later. They may close at midday (if it is only a cafeteria and not a bar), between 1.30 and 3 p.m., and re-open for coffee around 3.30 p.m., remaining open until 8.30 or 9 p.m.

The Andalucia region

Very well situated in a rural environment, very close to the city.

The town of Cenes de la Vega is situated on the banks of the River Genil, at the foot of 'LLano de la Perdíz', less than one km from the aquapark 'Aquaola' and there are riverside footpaths and cycle lanes which begin in Granada and end in the nearby town of Pinos Genil.

Cenes de la Vega is located in the central area of the province, only 5 kilometres from Granada's capital and laying on the slope of a mount at the shore of the Genil River. This town is part of the journey of the Route of Münzer, one of the routes of Al-Andalus impelled by El Legado Andalusi. Also known as Royal road, it linked Almeria with Granada through territories of the interior. In addition to being town-bedroom of the capital, during the week-ends it is one of the most selected destinies by the citizens of Granada and the foreigners to enjoy its surroundings, its nature and, mainly, its rich and traditional gastronomy at its many restaurants and picnic areas. Another type of tourist offer for the summer, is the aquatic park that the town of Cenes de la Vega has. The location and the places that frame the town make it ideal for the excursion and the rest in the shade of the poplars and wickers that decorate it.


There are riverside footpaths and cycle trails which go from Granada to Pinos Genil, the next village on route to Sierra Nevada, a paragliding school, equestrian centre, heated pool, kayaking and golf (in the town of Las Gabias).

There is also a water park 'Aquaola' 200 yards away. Of course you can do all the winter snow sports as we're very close to Sierra Nevada.

Culture is very important in Granada - there is so much to see: -The Alhambra and Generalife ( buy your tickets on-line - pre-booking is essential if you don't want to be disappointed!)

The Cathedral and Royal Chapel (la Catedral y la Capilla Real) where the Catholic Kings are buried

Granada City Centre - shopping, restaurants, tapas bars etc ( don't forget to visit 'El Paseo de los tristes, Plaza Bibrambla, Alcaicería y Calderería).

"Very comfortable and beautiful home with friendly and enthusiastic hosts"

We arrived tired to a wonderfully warm welcome. Josefina and Jose Miguel are kind and helpful hosts, and very proud of their home. And with good reason! They took us on a tour of the house, garden, terrace and pool and explained how things worked. They also made it very clear that they were available if we required any further assistance or had any doubts about our unfamiliar environment. Josefina speaks a little English and very clear Spanish and French and had prepared lot of tourist information to help us enjoy our surrounding and soak up the local culture. They were both fonts of knowledge about lesser known parts of the local area and made several invaluable recommendations. The house is well equipped, spacious and maintains a comfortable temperature throughout the day and night. We especially enjoyed feeling the warm tiles of the front terrace under our bare feet in the evenings while having a nightcap or local brandy or orujo. Cenes de la Vega is very close to central Granada and is easily reached on the new SN1 bus route, which takes you to a main interchange for other routes. You can also pick up the SN1 from the main bus station in Granada and it will take you straight to Cenes de la Vega, just minutes walk from the Alojamieto Rural Vista Blanca. Although travelling further into the Sierra Nevada will provide you with some scenic towns and impressive views, I walked to the top of the hill that the house is on and was left aghast by the far-reaching and panoramic views. Naturally it was perfect to return to the house and plunge straight into the pool, complete with mosaic dolphin. Some members of our parts named her Doris.

We stayed for a week in this beautiful house. Perfect for families. It was very clean, well equipped and the owners were very nice, they helped us with everything! The house has a good location, as it is near Sierra Nevada and you can go skiing in the morning and it is also near to Granada center. So you can also visit the city. I strongly recommend this house for your holidays!!
