Property and local area description.
This small exclusive gated complex has two blocks and has an on site friendly caretaker - Ramasen. Our brand new apartment is one of 14 and is situated in the front block on the first floor with three large splendid balconies!! Set in beautiful tranquil landscape gardens with a large covered barbecue area. There is a children's splash pool along side the main pool. we also have our own barbecue on the side balcony for your use so you can enjoy the excellent quality meat & fish available locally. Please note the master bedroom has a comfortable king-size bed and the benefit of black out curtains. The twin/double bedroom can be made up as a king-size if required and has semi black out curtains (nearly as good as the black out).In the lounge area there are two sofas/beds. the kitchen is well equipped with everything you may need.
The centre of Akbuk is approximately a 15 minute walk (small supermarket 5 minute walk), has plenty of well stocked supermarkets and now a Tesco under their Kipa brand name. There is also a selection of small shops including a very helpful English speaking chemist.
Eating out in Akbuk is an experience you will never forget. don't miss the best fillet steaks (and the cheapest) you have ever tasted at 'pasa' restaurant on the waterfront. Pasa is just one of many excellent restaurants & bars dotted along the sea front, try a different one every night, which will be your favorite? Some of the restaurant owners will give you a lift back to the apartment when asking for a taxi whilst paying your bill at the end of your evening. if they don't offer and they order you one, the taxi will cost you 10 Lira (£3 approx) back to the apartment.
Why not take a boat trip from the harbour area they are very reasonably priced and usually include a delicious lunch. fresh fish can also me purchased from the local fisherman from this area.
A must on a Friday, all year round, is a large local market in the centre of Akbuk where you can buy fresh fruit, vegetables, locally produced cheese & double yolk eggs!! clothes, jewellery and a wide variety of spices and of course souvenirs.
Nesting in the mountains behind the apartments is a huge eagle, if you are lucky enough to catch a glimpse you may mistake it for a small light plane, fantastic!
please note a car is not necessary, just use the reliable dolmus service. saying that, to explore & enjoy the local area it would be an advantage.

The Turkish Aegean Coast region
Akbuk is very peaceful and offers beautiful scenery within an idyllic secluded bay surrounded by green mountains with large areas of protected pine tree forests. The entire seafront is lined with trees and offers a place to come and relax and enjoy the real 'no rush' Turkey
Originally a small fishing village is very much an undiscovered gem on the Aegean coastline between the well known resorts of Bodrum and Kusadasi, it is primarily a resort frequented by local Turkish tourists and holidaymakers. However, being only a 15 minute drive from the popular resort of Altinkum - Didim, has led to many British tourists discovering Akbuk .Altinkum can be reach by dolmus very cheaply.
The holiday resorts of Altinkum, Bodrum and Kusadasi are all well worth visiting. Lunch over looking the unspoil local Bafa Lake is a must!! For the more adventurous among you, you may want to visit the Aqua Parks in Altinkum and Kusadasi. Turkish baths and scuba diving are all available locally in Altinkum a short dolmus (local bus) ride .Please note a car is not necessary, just use the reliable dolmus service. saying that, to explore & enjoy the local area it would be an advantage.
The Aegean Coast is rich in natural beauty, history and culture. It is renowned for its beautiful scenery of mountains and turquoise sea. The region boasts many ancient and biblical sites such as the Apollo temple in Altinkum, Bafa Lake, Ephesus, Pamukale and the Virgin Mary House.
