The Turkish Aegean Coast region
Akbuk is covered with protected forests and olive trees. Activities you can find in the region include fishing, hunting, tracking, sea sports and much more. Legendary Lake Bafa is only 10 minutes from Akbuk or if you enjoy a livelier atmosphere, you can get to Altinkum which is just a short distance from Akbuk, approx. 20 minute drive, or by local bus. The region has many small clean beaches and bays.
Plans for a £22.8 million golf resort in Turkish holiday resort of Didim have been given the go-ahead by local planning officials and the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. A Turkish steel and shipping company, is developing the 18-hole golf course and residential village on a 170 acre site between Didim – Akbuk - estimated completion 2015.
One of the deepest mariners in Europe has been built in Didim - a beautiful yacht club where you can stay or just use the facilities and dine and look at the incredible cruisers moored there or just passing through to the Mediterranean.!
Akbuk is a fishing town which is nestled between a crystal clear and tranquil bay, majestic mountains and pine forests. The resort looks out over the clear crystal Aegean with two small islands making it a truly spectacular view.
It has a micro climate boasting the highest oxygen content in Europe making it one of the healthiest places to be in!
It is situated between 2 International airports Bodrum and Izmir, Bodrum the closest at 45 minutes away and Izmir approx. 1 hour 10.
Akbuk used to be known as a small fishing port, however, today Akbuk is rapidly growing into an elite tourist hotspot, with its holiday complexes, summer houses, villas, harbour and five start hotels.
In contrast to Altinkum, Akbuk is largely untouched and unspoilt by the tourist industry. We are sure you will agree it is a little piece of Heaven. The town also has several shops. Akbuk is self contained and for day to day living the local shops can provide you with most things. There are many mini supermarkets selling food and groceries, a chemist a hairdresser, several shops for electrical appliances, a hardware shop, an internet café, plumbers etc. In fact, apart from large supermarkets you can find almost anything you would require.
