Description from owner

Description

A light and sunny family house in Aguadulce on the South Coast of Spain available during the months of July and August. There is a community pool just round the corner and we are 10 minutes walk to the beach and 5 minutes to the town centre. There is a small plaza with a bar on the same road and a park for the kids behind that.

The house is about 7 years old and has all new furniture and is well equipped. There is a big terrace at the front which has sun on it most of the day. There are sea views from the upstairs balconies. Three of the bedrooms (all double but one bed rather high off the ground, see the photos) are upstairs along with 2 bathrooms. The other bedroom has a very comfy double bed settee that doubles up as a snug and TV room. There is a big living room with patio doors onto the terrace, yet another bathroom and of course the kitchen.

We live in the house the rest of the year so it really will be home away from home. Hopefully I will rent it to families that will treat is with respect. For that, I maybe do not charge as much as other people but would like you to enjoy it as much as we do. We have a guy to manage it for us while he is away. He is very efficient and can speak sufficient English.

Personally I think Aguadulce is a super place. Very Spanish and no ´ Kiss me quick´ hats around. However if you really fancy a curry or fish and chips then Roquetas is about 20 minutes drive away which caters for the more British taste. The beach here is long and well kept. There is also a wild part where you can set up your BBQ and hang out for the day. There are some super places to eat and it isn´t too expensive especially if you have a Menu del dia at lunch time during the week.

If you drive through Almeria the airport is about half an hour a way. Almeria itself is a beautiful city especially in the old part with its castle. Of course, if you want to go further afield then there is the Natural Park of Cabo de Gato or you could head upto the pine forests on the edge of the Sierra Nevada or into the hills of the Alpujarras.

“Casa Bonita”

Had a great 2 weeks staying here. Probably one of nicest houses we have rented for holiday. 3 bedrooms with that extra room with very comfortable sofa bwd meant that all 3 teenager children could have their space. Bedrooms were really good size and house felt very spacious. Air conditioning throughout was brilliant to stop the nights feeling too hot. Lovely terrace with big tables we could all eat outside. The house has 3 bathrooms which was great and a well stocked kitchen with all the utensils and crockery you could need. There is also an outside utility so washing was no problem. The communal pool is only a couple of houses down and was never packed with enough sun loungers for all. Its only a 10 minute walk down the hill to the beach and shops. Their is a lovely marina with restaurants and a really nice beach bar along the promenade. We didn't hire a car and found the buses frequent and easy for visiting Almeria city as well as Roquetas de mar. The central commercial shopping centre is only 10 minutes by bus and stops right outside. We also visitws the Mario waterpark by bus and if you tell the bus driver he will let you know that you've reached your stop. Thw waterpark has sufficient slides to keep everyone occupied and also has several lovely pools. Definitely worth a trip. We went twice and ate their both times. Not an extensive menu but not expensive. Thw resort is very much Spanish with very few English tourists. We found the locals friendly and helpful. The pharmacy on the main road is really good and we were easily able to get medication we needed for an ear infection. The laeger supermarkets arw a little walk - Consum on the main road by the beach and Mercadona slightly inland almost a straight line from the villa, about 20 mins walk. All in all we had a great stay here and would highly recommend. Abigail, the owner. Waa really helpful and checked in with me via WhatsApp several times to make sure all was ok.

The local tapas bars are worth a visit and the walk to the beach although via hills was not too bad and helped to see the local shops etc. A car is useful if only for shopping and to visit other beaches. There is air conditioning available but only for upstairs

Owner's reply: I agree, a car is very useful even though it is a nice walk to the beach. It is great to have air conditioning upstairs but as one nearly always has the patio doors open then it is not practical downstairs. However, there are fans in every room.
