There is also a full-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge and oven and there is one wide bedroom with double bed too. In the bathroom of this floor you will also find a douse cabin and the washing machine. The living room and the kitchen have doors leading to the veranda near the swimming pool, where you will enjoy your swimming, the sun and the full of stars evenings.

We will go up to the stairs to the first floor, where you will find two bedrooms with two beds in each of them and a pretty bathroom. Two doors lead to an excellent veranda with a panoramic view to the sea and the mountains.

You will walk into this property and you will see the barbeque and the swimming pool with the surrounding garden. We must say that the two verandas are equipped with comfortable wooden garden- furniture, but you will also find sun beds and sun umbrellas into the grass- garden which surrounds the house. The short stone walls around the villa gives the sense of seclusion and privacy to all guests.

Location description from owner

The Rethymnon Prefecture region

Crete is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands and the fifth largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It forms a significant part of the economy and cultural heritage of Greece; while it retains its own local cultural traits (such as its own dialect, poetry, and music). Crete was the centre of the Minoan civilization (circa 2700–1420 BC), the first civilization in Europe and the first European country with a palace (at Knossos).

Crete is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Greece. Today, the island's tourism infrastructure caters to all tastes, including a very wide range of accommodation. Popular tourist attractions include the archaeological sites of the Minoan civilisation, the Venetian old city and port of Rethymnon and Chania, the Venetian castle at Rethymno, the gorge of Samaria, the islands of Chrysi, Elafonisi, Gramvousa, and Spinalonga.

Adele

Villa Alkistis abstains 3,5 km from village Platanes, where you can find many shops, bars and traditional restaurants.

The visit to the medieval village Maroulas, 2,5 km distance from the villa, and to the historical monastery of Arcadi, 14 km distance from the villa, will offer you unforgettable experience except the wonderful ride.
You can also include to your near tours the villages Aghia Paraskevi and Adele, abstaining from the villa 400 m and 800 m.

Alkistis abstains 8,5 km from Rethymno, a town which successfully combines the old and the new. A walk to the old town makes you never forget the Venetian port, the famous castle – Fortezza -, the Turkish minarets, the lanes and the traditional buildings.

During the Regeneration Festival you have also the opportunity to watch concerts and qualitative performances.
Rethymno awaits you with clear blue seas and Mount Psiloritis, there are traces of a civilisation that dates back 4,500 years, numerous Byzantine churches and monasteries, enchanting Venetian monuments, the most well-preserved Renaissance city in Greece, with endless beaches, caves, gorges and unique flora and fauna. Rethymno and its villages are live postcards, which are pervaded by the aroma of Cretan cuisine and the sound of the Cretan lyre. People live here amid nature and emotions, outside the code of behaviour found in big cities. No matter where you go, be it even to the most isolated village, our people will open their doors to you to treat you to a "tsikoudia" and befriend you. Rethymno is the homeland of Zeus, the god of Hospitality. The great number of visitors who return repeatedly confirms the words of the poet: ”Rethymno is not a place where you go to, but a place where you return.”

“Perfect... the villa, the pool, the view and the owners were all perfect.”

Reviewed 31 Aug 2016

We travelled to Crete with our boys aged 16 and 9 for a wedding. The villa gave us a base for our short stay. Despite our flight being delayed the owners Argiro and Nicos meet us just off the main road after midnight and lead us up to the villa ensurering we were settled in. The villa is pleasantly decorated with comfortable beds, lots of outdoor furniture and a reasonably well equipped kitchen. The place was spotless when we arrived and Nicos visited once during our stay to tend to the garden. Our youngest son spent hours in the pool and the wifi kept our older boy connected with the outside world. I enjoyed soaking up the view and the sunshine from the patio in the early mornings. You do lose the sun quite early in the afternoon but that did mean I did not have to worry about my 9 year old getting sunburnt in the pool. The roof terrace caught the sun later than the garden. We walked to the beach one day but took a taxi back as the road is rather steep. This villa is only suitable if you have a car. We will return for a longer holiday.
