The Balearic Islands region

Menorca is one of the Balearic islands, you can find unforgettable beaches and blue sea.

Although most people come for the climate and the beaches, the island has quite a few historic sights as well. Of particular note are the Paleo-Christian basilicas and monuments from the Talayotic culture. Another interesting sight is the Fort Marlboro which is a good example of British military architecture.

Mahon, the capital of the Island, is an important commercial and industrial centre. Apart from its architecture, fairs, festivals and fiestas which give it such a cosmopolitan and traditional air, the chief attraction of Maó is undeniably its extraordinary natural harbour.

The old capital, Ciutadella has many monuments dating from the 18th century and is a charming town. Its harbour is a meeting place for yachts and pleasure craft. Ciutadella is located in the west of the island.

Addaya / Addaia

Very quiet town. Direct access to the sea from the house.

There are plenty of things to see & do in Menorca - we've chosen our top 10 Menorca tips:

1. Old town of Ciutadella

2. Port of Maó

3. Bay of Fornells

4. Megalithic monuments

5. Favàritx lighthouse

6. Fortresses of Marlborough and La Mola

7. Views from Monte Toro

8. Festivals

9. red sand beach: cala pregonda

10. virgin beaches: cala Mitjana, cala macarella

Beach and sea

wild meadow flowers is criss-crossed with a diverse range of walking trails to suit all kinds of ability and interest. The newly opened Camí de Cavalls, a bridle path which rings the entire island mostly along the coast is a perfect way to explore.

S'Albufera des Grau Nature Park

with an extensive network of unpaved paths, paved roads and country lanes which have very little traffic. The newly opened Cami de Cavalls, a bridle path which rings the entire island follows the coast and is a perfect way for mountain bikers to explore the coastal zones.

View of the beach from a kayak, Menorca. Photo from Audax HotelWith many untouched beaches and sheltered coves which can only be accessed from the sea, and good weather for most of the summer months, Menorca kayaking is an established sport on the island.

Horse riding

Menorca has some of the most varied opportunities to explore the hidden and remote country and coast of the island. The newly opened Camí de Cavalls, an almost 200 km long bridle path now extends around the island on the coast but there are many other trails throughout the island on the coast and in the interior.

suitable for children and begginers

Scuba diving

The wide shallow inlet at the Bay of Fornells offers the perfect conditions for beginners to take courses and yet minutes from the dive centres just outside the bay are beautiful dive spots on the reefs and underwater caves of the Marine Reserve. There are also many dive spots around the island which can easily be accessed from the beach or rocky coastline.

"Beautiful Villa in the perfect location"

Beautiful Villa, with three good sized bedrooms (one double, two twins) with ceiling fans to keep you cool. Kitchen had everything we needed including dishwasher and microwave. Washing machine in the cellar. Combined dining room / lounge, but we ate every meal outside on the front patio looking out to the sea, or by the pool at the back. The former offers a cooler setting when really hot. Sun loungers and dining table and chairs provided by the pool. The pool area is a real sun trap. There is a built in BBQ near the pool too. The property had a roof terrace, which has a secure gate to stop the children from going up alone. Excellent spot to sit and look out over the sea in the evening. Owner really helpful, very prompt in all communication and any request we had was dealt with to our satisfaction. The area is delightfully peaceful, quiet and makes for a very relaxing environment. Within 15 minutes walking there is a small supermarket, amongst three places to eat. There was an Indian restaurant, a tapas restaurant / bar and a bar / pub. There was also a restaurant by the harbour (within 10 minutes from the villa). We ate at the tapas and the bar / pub. Both really good food, good value and very friendly atmosphere. Really good with children too. Arenal d’en Castell is no more than a 5 minute drive, which has hotels and beaches more places to eat and shop. Would recommend a car for this property, but not essential. Local facilities within walking distance. 4 places to eat out, and the shop should cater for most needs. We were so pleased with our choice. It offered the perfect combination of a quiet, relaxing “home" environment, but a short walk would take us to a very good quality restaurants and beaches within 5 minute drive (bus available too if no car). We would definitely return.

"Great location, view, pool"

We had a very enjoyable holiday and really liked the house, especially the location, the view, the pool, the good quality furnishing, and the way you always get sun on one side of the house and shade on the other. The house is a very easy drive from the airport, and is in a beautiful location opposite one of the national parks.

"Real Familyhouse !"

We've got a nice time in this villa with view & pool ! The neighbourhood is very quiet and the view on the frontside was marvellous. You can find everything in this house ,Furniture is complete. The house was very clean . We've had two times that we need some help for not working things and within short time there comes someone for help . Super ! The ony remark we've had is that there is overdue maintenance around the house . on the frontside and in the garden .

"Villa with charm and lovely views in quiet village by the sea"

We had a wonderful week in the warmth of Menorca and Casa Binimasr. The villa was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our week away. It was very clean with fresh cotton sheets and towels. Arrival and departure were so easy and the owner a delight to deal with. The pool was used extensively by our children and the presence of sun loungers and a bbq very useful! The village was quiet but had a small 'supermarket' (grocery store) with meat, veg, bread etc and a marina where kayaks and boats could be hired. Lovely views from the roof terrace ... as well as a cooling breeze.

"Simply perfect"

A perfect location for a relaxing holiday. The island is wonderful and the place where the villa is located is well connected and with an amazing sightseeing. The villa is well divided, rooms are well furnished and comfortable. you can enjoy your staying looking at an amazing dawn from the roof, having a drink in the swimming pool or simply start from there to visit the gorgeous beaches of the island. In september the swimming pool water at night is too cold to take a midnight bath. the house is exactly as I espected or even better.

"beautiful location"

Peaceful and relaxing setting complete with everything we needed for a comfortable week. Lovely views but not recommended for very small children due to the unrailed roof terrace. Good sized pool, perfect for 3 lively teenagers. Excellent location, for nearby beaches and an easy drive from the airport. The only additions I could recommend would be wi-fi connection and air conditioning, although the ceiling fans were effective, if a little noisy and sleeping with the windows open does leave you suseptible to mosquito attack!

"Lovely peaceful villa - amazing views"

Excellent contact with the owner prior to booking and sent us full information and route maps to find the place and locate the key. On arrival the villa was spotlessly clean and as described. The towels and sheets were changed after 7 days and the people who came were so lovely they even came back with an ice cream for our children as it was my son's birthday the next day! The pool was great and a good size and the views from the front of the villa were over an inlet and out to sea - beautiful, especially in the evenings and the roof terrace was a great place for a sundowner! Would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending the villa and we will definitely be going back!

"A fantanstic place for a relaxing stay"

We have just returned from a week at the Binnemar in Addyia. Put simply, for the price, you will struggle to beat this villa. The area - Addyia is a very quiet place with a few shops, supermarket and a few bars/restraunts, the main feature is the harbour. The area is primarily villas. Closest beach is Arenell de castel about 4k away and some lovely villages within a short drive, citudella about 45 mins by car is a must visit, a photographers paradise with its, quaint narrow streets and architecture A car is pretty much essential here. The Villa - Binnemar 333 is situated in a very pleasent location overlooking the strip of water that leads to the harbour so sitting at the front of the house, you can watch all the yachts and boats passing by. As you can see by the photos, the inside is very tastfully decorated and is spotlessly clean, the villa has everything you could ever need, home from home. The kitchen is new, with all the cooking facilities you can think of (more than we have at home!) the bathrooms are new, there are numerous guides, maps etc giving info for the island. I am led to believe that by the time i write this, there will be satelite TV installed with english channels as this was the only slight nit pic we had as a couple of nights the weather wasn't very good so we sat inside and tried to make head and tail of the news in spanish!! The pool areas is very nice, with a barbeque area, you get sun from about 10:30 in morning until 20:00 in the evening (May time) and it is a sun trap, some days we had wind on the front and it was lovely by the pool. The views from the front of the house are fantastic, this is a great area for having breakfast looking over the water. We will definately return. All in all, a great place for relaxing and fantastic value for money.

This was our second visit to Casa Binimasr and, as always, it was amazing and wonderful! The landlord has created a little paradise that is comfortable and like home. It was absolutely the perfect place for us. There was plenty of space so we never felt cramped and the house is in a nice, quiet area. The house was also close to several different beaches and small towns to visit so it gave us all the opportunity to experience lots of things without having to travel very far. I know we will return to Casa Binimasr!
