Despite the private location the cottage is within walking distance of Achiltibuie's well stocked village shop, the Summer Isles Hotel and bar, Salt Seafood Restaurant (opening May 2016) and the local gallery and café. It also has immediate access to the beach and coastal path from out with the fully enclosed garden ( including two u fenced wildlife "ponds") For the tech-obsessive - we have WiFi and Sonos in the kitchen. Dogs are welcome by prior agreement. The cottage is strictly non smoking.

Location description from owner

The Ross and Cromarty region

The cottage is located in the remote and secluded Coigach peninsula within one of the most spectacular landscapes in Scotland. The mountains are dramatic, like the backdrop to a Tolkein like Lord of the rings movie. The isolated sandy beaches can take on a Mediterranean quality in high summer due to the crystal clean water and white sand (but without the crowds). The large number of paths provide ample opportunity to enjoy the rugged coastline.

Achiltibuie

For the active, there is no shortage in outdoor pursuits, endless long walks, challenging mountain climbing, hill walking, kayaking, sailing, mountain biking, road biking, hill running and fishing are all readily accessible from the cottage.

For those looking to relax and get away from it all, the cottage is located in a private and tranquil setting off a quiet single track road. The view from the cottage over to distant mountains and far away islands can consume hours! There is plentiful wildlife that can been seen from the comfort of the cottage, red deer, dolphins, porpoise, all varieties of birdlife.

You will not fail to be inspired by the landscape. Many Artists and Photographers have set up home within the small vibrant communities that are scattered across the peninsula. Traditional music, arts and crafts play an important part within the community.
