Location description from owner

The Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park region

The National Park encompasses around 720 sq miles (1,865 sq km) of some of the finest scenery in Scotland and is split into four distinct areas. Nether Glenny is within the Trossachs which is famous for it's wild glens and sparkling lochs between Callander and Aberfoyle. A highlight is the climb or drive up through the twisting Duke’s Pass to Loch Katrine.

It is a place of contrasts from rolling lowland landscapes in the south to high mountains in the north, and has many lochs and rivers, forests and woodlands. It is also a living, working landscape which has been influenced by people for generations and is visited and enjoyed by many for its recreational value.

There are 21 Munros (mountains above 3,000ft) in the Park and the highest is Ben More at 1,174m.

There are 19 Corbetts (mountains between 2,500ft and 3,000ft).

There are 22 larger lochs, with numerous smaller lochs and lochans.

About 50 rivers and large burns.

“Fabulous over night stay at Nether Glenny”

Reviewed 5 Jan 2016

Wasn't entirely sure what to expect. The pictures on line looked fabulous but you're always a bit wary of accommodation but we were not disappointed. The cottage was beautifully decorated & spotlessly clean. A pleasant surprise was that the owner Alison also allowed us the use of the smaller, one bed roomed cottage (this too was beautifully decorated). We only booked for one night (an alternative Christmas night out to going to a hotel for a party night) & the group decided that packing up two cars with food & booze was the way forward for us from now on for our Christmas celebrations! Alison the owner was very friendly & was patient & accommodating when it came to me e-mailing her about early entry into the cottage (we did get in early). There are dogs that live in the main house (blue picardy spaniels I think & we were lucky enough to get a hold of one of the pups) & a very friendly cat which made its way into the cottage during the night (we left a window open just to let some fresh air in) & made itself comfortable until the morning. We'll definitely be back here & I'd go back with my husband & our dog for a night or two too. The surrounding scenery is stunning. The wifi signal wasn't brilliant but that didn't bother any of us. Couldn't fault the cottage, the surroundings or the owner!

Hello and thank you for this review. Amusing to hear that Harris joined you in the night !! I was happy to offer you Kestrel - it's not often that I have extra space available. Glad that you enjoyed the extra space. You were lovely guests and I look forward very much to welcoming you back some day with your dog. The puppies are doing very well and growing more gorgeous every day.Bye for now, Alison

“Wonderful vacation rental”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2014

This vacation rental (Buzzard Cottage) was everything we were hoping for and more. We loved the location, the gorgeous views all around us and the sound of sheep in the morning. The accommodations were really cozy and spacious. We felt right at home and would definitely go back.

And we would be delighted to welcome you back, thank you and best wishes from both of us.

“Idyllic location. Cosy cottage to get away from the madding crowd.”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2014

Buzzard Cottage is ideal for two people. Very cosy with an authentic sitting room complete with wood burning stove. An up to date and well fitted kitchen is well equipped to enable guests who wish to prepare their own meals or do some laundry if so desired (washing machine very handy to wash walking gear). The bedroom is comfortable & spacious and the well appointed conservatory diner means you can enjoy the view of the surrounding countryside at any time, whatever the weather. It's a lovely place to stay.

Thank you for taking time to review Buzzard cottage. We are always pleased to hear that our guests enjoy the features of the cottages. Very best wishes from the Nether Glenny Team.
