Getting around

Aberfeldy is 90 mins drive from both Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports. The closest train stations are Dunkeld and Pitlochry. We strongly recommend you arrive by your own vehicle. The farm track to Margmore Cottage is 1 mile long with steep sections and very bumpy. Not suitable for lowered sports cars. In winter conditions a 4x4 is essential. Aberfeldy is in the heart of Scotland and is an ideal base from which to explore all areas from the West Cost, Inverness and the East Cost.

Interaction with guest

We welcome you to check in at Errichel House and one of our team will drive ahead of you up to the cottage to show you the way and make sure you access the cottage and settle in. After that, we are on the end of the phone should you need assistance. Errichel House is home to the popular 2 AA Rosette restaurant Thyme at Errichel, open Thurs, Fri and Sat evenings.

Very Good

“Just the best surprise !!”

Reviewed 30 May 2018

Wow, blessed with perfect weather, we arrived at the cottage & were immediately impressed by this tastefully & gently renovated home! Reading guest book confirmed what we expected..... not a bad word to be said! One entry in particular was very emotive : a gentleman whose grandfather lived in the cottage in the late 1800s left a very positive affirmation of what has been achieved here . Exceptionally clean & with all necessary amenities, we enjoyed a brief three day stay & could have stayed twice as long!! Driveway challenging but with care doable : a clothes horse or washing line only thing I missed .... well done guys

Thanks so much for your lovely feedback! So happy you loved your time at Margmore and hope we can welcome you back soon! Thanks also for the note of what is missing - we will get that rectified! Best wishes to you all from the team at Errichel!

“A sympathetic appreciation of an old family farm”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2017

Margmore enjoys splendid isolation above the Birks of Aberfeldy yet close to the Rob Roy Way according to the map in the car park. A direct but private access to the way would be great. My grandfather was brought up here until 1896. I combined our visit with a MacDonald family reunion on the Saturday evening at the Errichel Restaurant; three cousins stayed on site overnight. Thanks to all those who helped create this memorable ancestral family visit. Good to know Margmore is now in safe hands and available for everyone to enjoy whilst exploring Perthshire.

So good to hear you enjoyed your stay at Margmore, a place of such significance for your family. I was sorry not to have managed to catch you personally during your stay but I do hope that you all had a wonderful and memorable reunion. I do hope we can welcome you back one day soon. With best wishes to you all from all of us at Errichel
