The North Wales region

Situated on a farm in southern Snowdonia, Stabal y Cwrt is located down a quiet lane, half a mile from the main road. A warm Welsh welcome is guaranteed and you also have the added bonus of having a games room on site. This cosy holiday cottage also enjoys a central location between the sandy beach and seaside resort of Aberdyfi (6 miles) and the historical town of Machynlleth (5 miles).

Another historical venue is the village of Pennal, just 1.5 miles away with a small village shop and a lovely restaurant / bar. Pennal is also home to Plas Talgarth's health and leisure complex where you can treat yourself to a massage, a range of beauty treatments or enjoy the heated indoor and outdoor pools etc.

Aberdyfi and Machynlleth both offer that something special. Aberdyfi is located in a beautiful spot where the mountains meet the sea and its sandy beach stretches for 4 miles, all the way to Tywyn. Amongst its amenities is an 18 hole golf course, beautiful walks, watersports, lovely cafes and shops and a number of restaurants, with Pharoah's Cellar Bistro and Sea Breese both recommended.

A short journey in the other direction brings you to Machynlleth, the Ancient Capital of Wales where the first Welsh parliament still stands today. Machynlleth also hosts the oldest street market in Britain every Wednesday and has many other amenities including mountain bike tracks, a leisure centre and a supermarket. Recommended restaurants in Machynlleth include Bistro Twenty One and the Wynnstay.

Many other attractions are also nearby, including the world famous Centre for Alternative Technology, Corris Craft Centre and King Arthur's Labyrinth. Talyllyn steam railway offers a great day out and it also provides access to a number of scenic walks. Ynys Las RSBP Nature reserve is another popular attraction whilst the walk up Cader Idris is well worth the effort with some very rewarding views from its peaks.
