“A very special apartment” We stay in apartments three to four times a year and this is, without any doubt, one of the best in which we have stayed. The quality of fixtures and fittings is superb and they fully justify the above average security deposit. It is just a wonderful apartment, even better than the photographs on the webpages suggest. Then there is the location, what a view. I could just stand on the veranda and just watch the world sail by. Being on the Royal William Yard is more than just a bonus. It is really lovely to wander around and I must really recommend the ‘River Cottage Canteen and Deli’. With the last ferry leaving Cornwall at 9pm an early evening visit to the Edgcumbe Arms for a drink with a view. There is also a ferry to the Barbican on site and the bus stop is just at the entrance to the yard. Word of warning, seagulls are far too plentiful and the need for your car to be washed as soon as you get home is inevitable.
This is a most wonderful apartment and we will most definitely hope to return.
“Good Central Location, Good Accommodation with a couple of gripes” Overall a nice apartment with just a couple of gripes.
1. Way too many mirrors especially the monstrosity in the living room.
2. Could have done with my lighting - we stayed in November and the lighting made the apartment look stark and dingy.
3. A £175.00 damage deposit is a bit steep especially when it is taken immediately but we had to chase for repayment - paid when chased but this was 2 weeks after the rental. Also not easy to recover as not only had to chase but had to claim money from paypal (who i dont trust) which involved not only signing up to paypal but also then having to ask them to transfer to my bank account which takes another 3 days. Not very impressed.
“Multiple stays over a number of years” RWY is a classy location with the apartments on offer matching that standard.
Phil and his team are very professional and the accommodation is always in top notch condition. The views are spectacular whilst sitting in the 4ft thick solid granite stone window frame, drinking a good glass of vino and watching the sun go down over a hard turning battleship, departing for patrol, takes some beating. Check in & out is seamless as is the overall booking experience.
The restaurants and bars, within 50m, walk cater to all needs from bar food, to wagamamas to cuisine that should satisfy even the most discerning visitor. The Secco lounge immediately below the Juliet balcony gives off a pleasing sound of the hustle and bustle of patrons enjoying a cold one on a sunny afternoon, but is always quiet by a sociable hour. Open the windows and let the sun and sound in ..... lovely !
I have stayed at RWY with Luxury Sea Views a number of times over the recent years on both business and pleasure and will continue to do so. Visit the website and also check out The Esplanade for something a little different and special in its own way, trust me ;-)
