We have now installed a freezer and so sorry you found difficulty with the french doors, they do have mechanisms to retain them which unfortunately had not been included in the information folder, this has now been added. At the time of your stay the drying/boot room had not been completed but is now up and running with large suspended drying rack and tumble dryer. We do have to drive past the cottage to reach our property and ensure that all cars are hidden from view to make the most of the private woodland and views available to our guests. We are delighted you loved Derbyshire and got to visit our local show, knowing that you will come back to the area is very gratifying indeed.

Thank you for a lovely review. Part of the charm of the cottage is that it is not on a road, and therefore very quiet and peaceful. The only nearby road to this little hamlet is a dead-end one that only leads to the fields, so the location is ideal for going walking straight from the front door.
The parking in this historic part of town developed in an era of pre-car and pre-planning and the houses hug the hillside. Parking is therefore located a few minutes walk away from the cottage. There is a closer drop-off point for luggage if required. The cottage and the parking is not suitable to people with limited mobility.
The Potting Shed is set within the boundary walls of Hargate Hall and as such is surrounded by established gardens. There are two entrances to the property and off road parking for vehicles. There is an attractive garden to the front of the cottage and raised deck are …see more
