Thank you for your lovely review.
Just a note on the pubs, I'm not sure whether you tried the quirky John Bull Inn and the Tanners Arms in Alnwick, and the Plough in Alnwick has been taken over by the owners of that brill Craster pub apparently - I haven't been yet, but intend to visit soon. Oh, and the Dirty Bottles Tap Room is new (and good) too.
I'm just wondering whether you missed the good pubs in Alnwick...I must admit that there are one or two which are disappointing. There are lots of reviews of pubs and restaurants in our guest books.
I hope that the above info helps other guests who are thinking of visiting the region.
Thanks again for the review and all the best for 2016.
