“"Real Getaway"” We spent one week at the Downtown Cottage in Munising, and were so impressed by the amenities of the little cottage. We also want to commend Lisa Schramm for her assistance in so many ways, and her hospitable manner in treating all of our inquiries. We were disappointed that there wasn't more to do in Munising - but loved the Painted Rocks Cruise! Thank you for a great stay in Munising!

“Get away from it all!” This cabin is on a small lake. You can row a boat or canoe anytime you like, read on the back deck overlooking the water, watch the gorgeous sunset, or grill in the barbeque pit. Except for one cabin nearby, it's very secluded. It's pet friendly, and totally quiet. A beautiful cabin, the only downside was the wifi is slow, but that's due to the area. A great place to unwind! And august is more like May, in the upper peninsula.

“Very nice place to stay.” We came up to snowmobile, this is a very well supplied house and enjoyed it very much. A lot of room to park our big trailer and truck. It is a little far from town so make sure you get gas in your sled before you leave Wetmore.

About Munising, Michigan
Located on the southern shore of Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Munising is a small town with a population of just 2,500.
The name Munising comes from the Ojibway (Chippewa) language and means “near island”, which refers to Grand Island—a 35-mile long 8-miles wide National Park—just a half mile offshore.
Nestled in the Hiawatha National Forest, Munising is the gateway to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore and Grand Island National Recreational Area.
The nearest big settlement and the largest on the Upper Peninsula is Marquette, a town of 21,000 inhabitants just a 40-minute drive away.
