“Beautiful, remote accommodation.” Cottage was well equipped for our stay. Immaculately clean and brightly furnished - I was really impressed. Internet worked well and Sky tv and DVD’s to use. I loved how spacious it was and how bright and modern it felt inside. The bed was also really comfortable and the blackout blinds useful. The cottage has everything you need and is lovely for spending cosy evenings looking at the beautiful views from every window. The hot tub is an added bonus of course! Only a small word of warning but it is a long and bumpy drive up to the cottage. It was quite challenging in the wet weather although shooing the cows out of the way was fun! Just allow 10 mins or so each time to get in and out. The plus side of course is that you are so remote and it’s the most peaceful place I’ve stayed. Loved it!

“This was a great relaxing stay” Was visiting the area for both family and tourist reasons and really needed a 'get away' break. I found the 'Bothy' and it was just what I needed. No hotel, B&B but somewhere self contained. The 'Bothy' is self contained and has all you need for your stay. A really nice bedroom/sitting room (bed really comfy), a small kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge and kettle/coffee maker and all you need for simple meals. Even had tea, coffee, milk and cookies provided. My host, Fiona, greeted me to advise on how things work but after that allowed me to have the solitude I wanted but with the proviso that I could call on her if necessary. Spent two nights here and would have liked more. This is a great place and highly recommended.

“A great base for a week by the sea” It has been a few months now since we stayed at this clean and comfortable apartment. But we continue to talk as a family about our time there. Unlike myself, Paul responded quickly and helpfully in all communications and helped us with his local knowledge and suggestions. Easy off road parking and access from the back gate to the west beach path (1 min walk on sandy paths) also access to the local restaurant / pub. A short car trip to the east beach (few mins) but well worrh it - if you go there, take a metal detector and you may find my wedding ring... Most talked about points are dolphins off Cromarty and an afternoon catching crabs off the Lossiemouth harbour wall. Most concern at the time was, the weather - which turned out sunny, and that the apartment seemed so clean and new we were worried about making a sandy mess... but is that a bad thing? 8) When we left to go home, we left behind a few odds and ends and Snowy - our daughters toy kitten. Paul very kindly and quickly packaged and sent them on to us, arriving before she realised they were gone. Thank you.

“Excellent accommodation” My friends and I booked Dunedin Cottage for two nights either side of cycling the Ride the North 100 mile event. House was well equipped and convenient for a short cycle into and out of Elgin. Friendly welcome too and pleasant views all round.

“Fabulous cottage in wonderful location” My husband, teenage daughter, puppy and I spent a fantastic week in this lovely cottage. The cottage was clean, well-equipped with plenty of space for all of us. The large, enclosed garden was great for the puppy and the access from there to walks around the estate was very handy. We walked to Duffus Castle, which is definitely worth a visit. Would recommend Burghead Beach and Roseisle for great walks and Duffus Inn, The Bothy in Burghead and Spice Tandoori in Elgin for fabulous food. We would recommend this lovely cottage. Caroline was very helpful, providing information about things to do before and during our stay, as well as supplying a very nice welcome basket for our arrival.

“PEACEFUL, RELAXING, EXCELLENT LOCATION” We have just returned from 68 Yardie, it is a lovely clean spacious property with everything and more that you could wish for. From the bedroom window we saw dolphins in the sea within an hour of arriving. We walked a mile or so along coastal path and watched the seals basking and swimming. Town is 10-15mins walk with good variety of shops. Beds huge and very comfortable as were the sofas. Owners helpful and quick to respond to any queries. Will certainly stay again when is Scotland as left feeling stress-free and relaxed.

“Fantastic week in a lovely, spacious house - with a castle in the back garden!” We had a great week in Old Duffus. There were four adults and three young children in our group, and the house could have comfortably accommodated another two adults. The rooms are really spacious, and the kids loved running up and down the hallway and in and out of the (enclosed) garden. The house is really well kitted out for a family holiday - cooking in self-catering kitchens can be such a pain but I think the only thing I couldn't find was a garlic press! We really enjoyed dinners round the huge country kitchen table, or in the back garden where we could enjoy the stunning summer sunsets over Duffus Castle. We appreciated so many of the thoughtful details and extras - the garden furniture, BBQ, garden toys, fantastic little hamper with locally sourced goodies... I could go on! Great location for a family holiday too - the kids got a real kick out of being so close to a castle (the first thing you see when you open the curtains in three of the bedrooms!) and visited it several times. Easy to find geo-cache there if you need a wee pre-dinner activity! We really enjoyed working our way through some of the suggestions in the folder - Roseisle was beautiful, as was Findhorn, and we had a great afternoon in the rock pools and on the beach at Hopeman. The cooperage at Speyside was worth a visit, and we enjoyed the Biblical Gardens and Cathedral in Elgin. There were plenty of things we ran out of time for - looking forward to our next visit!

“Lovely return visit” This is the second time we've stayed here and had a great time again. The house is perfect for a small family. There's a good selection of games and a few jigsaws for the wet days as well as all the usual essentials. Beds very comfy! All in all this is a great wee house and a nice base for exploring the area. Although it was chilly, being February, there was plenty to do. Lossiemouth beach is great for sandcastle building in any temperature. Coopers Park in Elgin is lovely with a good play park, aviary and large pond with ducks, swans and geese to feed.

“An incredibly well-equipped, very spacious property in the midst of wonderful countryside with lovely owners” I fear this will not be a very creative or unique review. I can only reiterate very strongly what every other reviewer seems to have mentioned. Whitegate Croft is the MOST FABULOUS place to stay. It was a very long drive for us (475 miles) and we were greeted at the property by the wonderfully friendly and generous owners, Angus and Alvina. We all agreed the long drive was well worth it. (3 generations aged 19 to 79). Nothing is too much trouble and Alvina makes wonderful pancakes as we discovered when she popped round with some one morning. The property itself lacks for absolutely nothing and the photos don't really do it full justice. It is fantastically equipped and very spacious. What worked well for us was having a downstairs single room (opposite the huge downstairs bathroom) which was ideal for my mobility impaired mother-in-law. Also great were the two living rooms, one with TV, one without but both furnished beautifully, the one with the tv had a wood burning stove and had wonderful views through windows/doors on three walls. The kitchen contained all mod cons and there was a separate utility room too. The upstairs bedrooms (double with ensuite and dressing area) had fantastic open views and a sea view could be glimpsed from the side kitchen window. Nearby are numerous quaint fishing villages to visit as well as the whale and dolphin centre at Spey Bay (free entry). Lots of distilleries are in the area and I can recommend the Glenfiddich one which we visited. Culloden battlefield and visitor centre was just over an hour away and Fochabers made an interesting visit (try the Baxters village). All in all, a great place to stay and visit.

“Absolutely Lovely!!!” Just returned from a weeks stay. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. Very peaceful and stunning location. Has everything you need. Ideal for our five month old spaniel who was very safe in the enclosed garden. Lovely welcome hamper on arrival. Sheila very kindly pointed out culbin sands as a great place to visit - it was stunning too. Well worth a visit. Would definitely recommend the buzzard cabin to anyone needing a recharge away from hustle and bustle. We hope to visit again soon. Both Sheila and Sandy are lovely hosts without being intrusive. Thank you.
