“Fantastic” Absolutely beautiful location, great recommendations by Debbie for nearby visits to go on walks but also beautiful walks around the area. Lodge is absolutely stunning, been on many holiday lettings holiday and this is the best quality. Were lucky with weather too. Cannot praise it enough
“Fabulous views - pet friendly cottage” Fab few days away at Belle Vue Cottage. Jan and Rich were so welcoming and the location is perfect for the falls and Vernwy Lake. We spent many an hour relaxing on the veranda enjoying the fabulous views. We arrived with a trailer, motorbike and 2 Labradors and our hosts couldn't have been more welcoming. We'll be back :)
“Peace and quiet in rural Wales” Oh my goodness - what an amazing cottage! We were welcomed first and foremost by Toby the dog who our children absolutely adored and he loved fetching sticks for them. The cottage is lovely and open plan with a backdoor leading to the garden with a hot tub. The hot tub was used most evenings once the children were asleep and on clear nights we were able to turn all the lights off and look up at the stars! We heard owls and also saw a bat fly overhead.
The cottage is a nice size for a family of four and the kids loved the large tv and space to play hide and seek. The bathroom was a good size and has a really good rainfall shower (no bath). Everything in the cottage is modern and the underfloor heating is so good - no cold toes!
Locally in the area there are a number of things to do, most things for children involve being outside. There is no nearby indoor soft play areas that we were aware of, which are good for rainy days! There is however a small zoo in Borth which the kids really enjoyed. In the nearby village there is a great cafe I was able to get a takeaway latte from - Caffi Gruff. Amazing coffee.
We loved our stay and may well be back in the future for a good relax.
“A clean, pretty cottage that was perfect for us.” We're a family of two adults and two under 5's and the Little Twmp Barn was ideal for us. It's private and secluded, despite being on the owner's grounds. We only met the husband Martin, he was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble.
The downstairs has a great living space with all the amenities we could have wanted: TV, DVD, log burner, dining room, hot tub etc. The attention to detail was nice, and you got the feeling things weren't skimped on, ie nice leather sofas, decent crockery, etc.
The grounds were big enough to kick a ball around, so the kids were happy. There are lovely views of the hills and while it was too cold to sit out for too long, I imagine the summer here must be bliss taking in all the surroundings.
Upstairs had a funny-ish sort of layout, but it was great for us. You walk through the twin room to get to the double room. This was not a problem at all, as the kids were fast asleep after full long days and we could keep an ear out for them.
My only criticism, and it's very minor, is that the downstairs shower room could do with updating. But really, it's not anything to put you off this great, self-contained accommodation, I would definitely recommend it.
