“Brilliant, private villa close to the best beaches in Mauritius” The villa is above average in spec and size with its own pool and surrounded by a walled garden. Absolutely perfect if you want privacy. We were happy to swap days by the pool or on the multitude of balconies with days spent on the superb beaches of Belle Mare which were lieterally 5 minutes away. Shopping was easy with a choice of supermarkets in nearby Centro Flact. It was missing a couple of minor items but I'm assured that the owner has purchased them and we started a 'visitors book' so I hope that provides local information to help.

“Great location, lovely staff, excellently organised” My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks with our 2 year old daughter in November. Having considered a number of hotels in the area we happened upon this self catering option and decided that for the cost and ease that a house could be a good option for us. We could not have been happier. The owner, Louise, really makes the difference as far as I'm concerned. Her information sheet was invaluable but before ariving and whilst we were there. The help, Ravi and Ouma, were exactly as described, trustworthy, kind and helpful. The house is a well used and loved beach house. It is not a minimalist, luxury pad and is all the more comfortable for it. The bedrooms are large and bright and breezy (with excellent A/C which only needs to be on for 5 minutes and the room is cool), there is plenty of storage for all your things. There are oodles of towels and bath robes and the bedding is changed each week for you too. The showers, whilst old, work perfectly and are very very hot. and the house itself is so well appointed, at no point did I look for something in the kitchen and not find it. The location couldn't be much better. You are right by the beach with plenty of beach either sied of the house to walk to. There are rock pools to play in, crabs to find, fish to look at and starfish in the water right outsode the house. The hotels either side are close enough and whilst we only used a couple - the Lux and the Residence - for dinner, had we not been as tied to the house we would have used them far more. The thing about this place is that it offers the best of both worlds. The flexibility of self catering, the great prices of the island and the accesability of the hotels restaurants and bars and watersports should you wish to use them. We had Ravi's wife make us dinner a few times - mauritian food delivered ready to eat to the door - and it was absolutely to die for. What a luxury on a self catering holiday to have food cooked for you, but to still feel relaxed and easy. The pool next to the house is clean and was practically emplty all the time we were there. The garden with daybed means that you can do very little (and trust me we did) and still not feel housebound. The weather was incredible, the breeze coming from the sea was very welcome on our hot hot days. In no way did we make the most of the island or even the local area (with a 2 year old who slept for 2-3 hours each day at home so that we were able to relax and sunbathe in the garden) but we would absolutely make more of it when we (hopefully) return. I really would say this was excellent value for money and have already recommended it to friends and family. Many many thanks Louise.

“Definitely go back again!” The place was more than what we expected. It's a place where what you get what you see. We spent 5 nights there and we couldn't complain at all given the price we paid for was an excellent deal! The owners who live in the house below were great, with all their advices and places to see and visit. We were picked up and dropped off from the airport and we rented a car at La Villa d'Or which was very handy. The place had excellent view of the sea, the Bénitiers Island and the Chamarel mountain at the back. We rented the 'Bel Ombre Studio' which was excellent for 2, good size and all what you need for a self catering apartment. Our only regrets was that the time went so fast and which that it was longer but we definitely going back to Mauritius and La Villa d'Or will be the place to rent again...!
