“Incredible villa in remote Mozambique” Vista Abril is truly one of the most magnificent beach villa's we have ever experienced. We usually spend our holidays in villas in Mexico, but for our large family celebration, decided to find a beach villa closer to home. Vista Abril exceeded all of our expectations. The views from the deck and the beach are quite spectacular. The villa itself is beautifully appointed and stylishly furnished. It lacked for nothing in terms of amenities, including really lovely toiletries and a fully stocked kitchen with sharp knives and a couple of french presses. The housekeeping staff are pleasant and efficient. The stairs down to the bottom bedrooms and then onto the beach are extremely steep. They would definitely be very difficult for older people and young children to navigate. Our group aged between 9 and 60, managed well. The beach is beautiful and pristine. All in all it was one of the most exquisite places we have ever stayed, and we so look forward to going back. Getting to Vista Abril was an adventure! We crossed the border into Mozambique via Kosi Bay, which went quickly and without incident, but we literally got one of our 4x4's stuck in the sand directly outside the border post which was a sign of things to come. The roads through the Machangulo reserve where only suitable for full 4x4 travel, and the drive was a 6 hour hectically off road experience. Our Jeeps were scratched by the tree branches that populated most of the drive. We didn't pass a single shop between Kosi Bay and Vista Abril so we were very happy that we came fully prepared for how remote this little slice of heaven really is. The large herd of elephants we passed on our way out of the Reserve was a perfect treat to end a magnificent holiday.
