“Six weeks with young children in Coconut Laguna villa” We loved the house and the beach is something completely different. The house is in a good condition and you get what the pictures show you. The resort is quiet and very well kept. All correspondance with Jean Charles went smoothly and he replied quickly. Samui is a wonderful place and if/when we return we will contact Jean Charles again and highly recommend his property.
The staff is very friendly, good spirited and you can always find someone. There are however few things I would like to mention. The communal pool is great and we loved it, but it could be better and more frequently cleaned, especially the children pool which sometimes was left out when the pool was vacuumed. Perhaps it might be pointed out better that there is a small "foot shower" close to the pool (it was sandy)? The sun beds by the pool are old/broken, those on the beach are great.
The house was very clean when we arrived but the cleaning got worse the longer we stayed which was a shame. We twice asked for re-cleaning which was done in very timely manner. We had problems with the hot water in one of the shower and they came I think 6 times to fix it but it always broke again (in the end we left it, there are two showers anyway :-)). It would be a nice gesture to have earplugs on the nightstand when you arrive, it took few days getting used to the later soothing sounds from the ring road.
We could not have been there without the car since we stayed for so long, but there are hidden gems in Bang Po - if you are for the quiet live you could well stay without a car. Be sure to try the food in the restaurant across the street, it is the best! Fair prices and he delivers. We highly recommend Toi massage on the beach, morning yoga at Oasis health resort (10 min walk) the recently opened Sunset bar at the east end of the beach, the best coffee you will get at 4 Monkeys across the road from 7/11 (15 min walk) and the pizza's at Celli's (10 min walk) are the best on Samui. We loved every day!
