“A cozy, comfortable base from which to explore this beautiful ar” All our dealings with Lillian Bell and Laurence were a pleasure.Prompt and informative responses to all our E-Mail queries. The Gite was perfect. Well appointed, tastefully decorated and perfectly located for exploring this stunningly beautiful area of France.The village shop was well stocked and with Carjac only 15 kilometers with it,s Saturday market we could buy everything we needed. Madam,s Restuarant Turisto in the village was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed her fabulous home cooking on more than one occasion! As a senior couple two things could be improved on. The pathway from the lane to the Gite could be improved to enable one to wheel a heavy suitcase to the gate.We had to carry them in one by one. The only other thing was the bed. It is wedged almost wall to wall in the alcove next to the bathroom making it extremely difficult to get in and out of and to make the bed in the mornings was a mission! As South africans the Madiba table cloth made us fell quite at home.Marcilhac is also easily accessible by car from Brive where Europcar and avis have offices 50 meters away from the train station.
