Horse Riding Holiday Accommodation in Lake District - Holiday Lettings

“Lovely property in a picturesque setting” We had a great week at Lowfeld. Near Sawrey is a great base for a Lake District holiday, being a picturesque Lake District village with a couple of great pubs within walking distance, views over Esthwaite, and walks from the door. Hawkshead is an easy 5 minute drive away, and the rest of the LD is easily accessible. The property itself was cosy, and well equipped, and with great views to the rear. Parking in the drive requires a bit of care, but is perfectly doable without difficulty after the first go! Sarah was very helpful and the booking process was very easy. All in all, great value - especially for the location. Would definitely recommend.

“60th Celebration” Superb accommodation. Beautiful location, immaculate inside and out. Just wish we could have stayed longer in what really is an idyllic spot. Owners were really helpful in responding to questions and we will hopefully book a return visit soon. So convenient for Ambleside.

“Very nice place” Cosy, nice place. Everything was clean and very nice decorated. When we got there it was quite cold outside. Was a nice surprise that the host arrange that the cottage was warm for us. We definitely recommend Jasmine cottage.

“Small, but perfectly formed cottage- perfectly eqipped with everything you might need for a weeks holiday in the Lakes!!” Rose Cottage is set in a lovely little village with shop and pub very close, and was easy to find, even in the dark! The Cottage is one bedroom, but having said that there was ample storage, and space for the three of us (2 adults and an 8 year old child) with a comfy double bed, and 2 camp-beds. Everything was very clean, and well decorated- new bathroom suite with a good shower, and decent kitchen, complete with everything you need for cooking for a week (except a 'modern' tin opener?!) I think the only improvement I could ask for it wi-fi? But other than that it was spot on for our needs. I would really recommend Rose cottage to couples looking for a base for the Lake district- very warm, cosy, convenient, and very good value for money!

“Perfect!” I spent the weekend here with a group of 20 work friends. We spent the evenings having BBQs in the outdoor seating area enjoying the amazing views, and the days walking down to the beach and the local pub. The house is stunning - the pictures simply don't do it justice. It took us a while to find all of the rooms! The house is equipped with everying you need (including jacuzzis and a pool table), and the large living room and kitchen meant it was perfect for socialising in the evenings. I would recommend this to anyone looking to organise a get away with a large group of friends or colleagues.

“Perfect Cottage” From the moment we arrived at Rose cottage until we left we felt at home. The cottage has a real home from home feel about, from the minute you step into the cosy, large , warm kitchen. The cottage has everything you need, and more. The sitting room with cosy wood burner, and full sky package is the perfect place to spend an evening. Although there is a little traffic noise, after mid evening there’s very little. The garden spread over three levels catches the sun throughout the day, even managed to sit out a couple of times. The welcome pack that Phillip provides is a lovely gesture, and was gratefully received. The cottage is set in a great location for exploring the Cumbrian coast and the Lake District fells.Managed walks in Wasdale, Boot and three Wainwrights plus a trip in the Ravenglass railway. Overall a great place to stay in a fantastic cottage.

“Perfect lake district retreat” Brilliant! Perfect for our large Labrador dog. The garden was safe and spacious. The Dairy is very deceptive as it is much bigger than the photos feel. There was a welcome jug of milk in the fridge as well as biscuits, tea and coffee. The log burner was all made up ready too. We will definitely be rebooking for a whole week next year. The staff at the hall were very friendly and were very helpful when I locked myself out too! Very impressed and good value for money. Just the right sort of accommodation for a walking holiday.

“Stunning” The boat house was stunning in every way, the location and the boathouse itself. When we walked in the house it was wow factor the attention to detail in everything was amazing if I could I would have bought it on the spot and retired there. Jayne certainly made it exceptional for us, it was our ruby wedding and she had left us chocolates, prosecco, red roses and even spread red petels on the bed and kitchen side and also we had a lot of snow that morning but jayne rang and invited us to arrive earlier than the original time which we really appreciated it saved us killing time in awful weather, we were so pleased to get to the boat house , The boat house is very cosy and is all done to a high standard nothing is cheap I would certainly recommend it and will certainly go back only this time longer 2 nights is not long enough I certainly did not want to leave.

“Well equipped and comfortable accommodation with tasteful decor” We greatly enjoyed our stay but because of the location of the property and the fact that the master bedroom with en suite is situated at the top of the house it is more suited to able and active visitors but the view of Morecambe Bay from the top room is ample compensation. The house is uphill from the town (it took us 10 minutes to walk down and a couple of minutes more to walk up) and one of our group only attempted it once and had to stop for breath four times on the upward journey, downward being no problem. There is good, reasonably priced parking in the town should you prefer to drive. It is one of the best holiday homes we have rented and would have no hesitation recommending it.

“Perfect” A lovely lodge in a beautiful location. The lodge itself is fresh, clean and bright with all amenities making it a home from home. If I were to be really critical, I'd still struggle to find a negative and the greeting card on arrival just gave it the extra personal touch. As a family of 4 we got the much needed rest as well as keeping the kids entertained and Fellside Lodge more than played it's part. Highly recommended and we'd have no hesitation in booking again

“Homely, comfortable and quaint.” My boyfriend and I stayed in this lovely little cottage with our dog for his birthday weekend and couldn't have had a more wonderful time. When we arrived we were immediately greeted by the caretaker Gill (the owners were on holiday) who showed us into the cottage and advised that we could call upon her should we need anything. Despite being away, Stephen and Elaine had still left us the delicious welcome pack of homemade cakes, bread and biscuits as well as wine, milk, butter, tea coffee etc which were very very much appreciated! They really had thought of everything, right down to a picnic basket and blanket to a scrabble board game left in the cupboard. The bedroom was so cosy and the bed so comfy. I live in a city centre so had the best few nights sleep I've had in a very long time in there. Amazing! All in all we had a great time and would highly recommend this cottage for a couples getaway! We explored the areas lakes, fells and beaches, all within an hours drive (beach only 10 min) yet we always looked forward to getting back and having a brew and snuggling up in the warmth on the sofa! Thank you Steve and Elaine! Ps we are so sorry, we discovered the maps to the beach in my car today that you had kindly drawn for your guests and we forgot to return. I do hope you have more copies!!

“Fab holiday!” We had a wonderful, comfortable, holiday at this beautiful converted barn. When we arrived late at night and opened the door to the upstairs room such a WOW factor!! The sofa was so comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. We lounged on the sofa in the evening after our busy days out at Coniston (climbed the Old Man Coniston, my family canoed and we swam in Ullswater) The weather was stunning. Two very hot days and a cooler day but it didn’t rain. We felt so blessed with the weather. The bedrooms were lovely and very comfy beds and cotton sheets too! The wooden floor was beautiful in the upper room however, if someone was downstairs in the bedrooms and some one was walking upstairs the floor was very noisy above. That is the only criticism. Katie was very receptive and helpful whenever I message her. It was a truly wonderful holiday and we would love to come back. Thanks Katie

“Very nice” Spent 4 days at the White Cross Bay Park in a private rental. Log cabin was spotless and well maintained. The park is positioned well so you can get to many places easily. Situated right on the lake. Check in was easy and although we did not use any of the Parkdean facilities we had an enjoyable stay.

“Comfortable ,well situated bungalow.” A small bungalow but with everything you would need. It was very warm with excellent central heating and a powerful fire. Very near the centre of Keswick and there was a fishshop and a grocer 2 minutes walk away. The BT wi-fi worked very well.Would stay there again.

“Excellent cottage, beautiful location. Truly relaxing break” My fourth visit to Barnhaven cottage. We spent another lovely week in this relaxing village. Love the cottage and the village pub. Great local walks and close to Kendal for shopping and always something going on at Brewery Arts Centre for an evening out. Spacious cottage with lovely large garden with garden furniture for sunny evenings.

“Great place” We stayed here for 4 nights and everyone, including the dog really enjoyed it. The accommodation has everything you could need and is lovely and clean. We really enjoyed exploring the local area during the day then spending quality family time playing board games etc. in the evenings. Everything was really well organised and the owner answers all emails really quickly. Would definitely recommend.

“relaxing break” stayed 3 nights at Puddleduck. have stayed at Limefitt before in a more modern luxury lodge . Preferred Puddleduck as so cosy. loved the sound of the beck which was very loud in the rain . enjoyed the horses who came to say hello to us . my son saw 2 deer when he went walking in the woods on the site . had a trip on the Ravenglass steam railway. not cheap but fab scenery and worth it . the Churchill Inn Ambleside was good for a inexpensive pub supper and great fish and chips at the Little Chippy Winderemere . Sid our dog enjoyed himself too Thankyou
