    Porthtowan holiday apartment rental

     (30)Very Good

“Very nice accommodation in great location” We have always enjoyed visiting Porthtowan when in Cornwall but never actually stayed in the village, and this was perfect for us. Very comfortable, well equiped and spacious accommodation. Great location s

    Perfect relaxed week away

We booked rather last minute, but this didn't phase Caroline, everything was ready for us and the apartment is superb.....exactly as described, with all that we needed for a relaxed break to hand. The apartment is walking distance from the beach and cliff tops and Porthtowan has everything you need but is still very much a small seaside resort, just a sandy cove (beautiful fine white sand) with a handy village store, a couple of beach bars, a pub, surf store and a nicely stocked gift shop. We ran out of days to do everything we had planned during our stay as there is so much to see within just a half hours drive or so, we'll just have to come back! see more

    Great Time

It was our first time at Porthtowan and we enjoyed it very much. The beach is big, sandy and flanked by cliffs. You can sit on a bench on the one side and look down on the sea or sit in the bar/cafes right on the edge of the beach. Great fish and chips at the local chippy - The Jolly Fryer. The house is over three storeys with kitchen/living room/extension on the ground floor with a small garden to sit out on to the rear. TV, WiFi and well equipped kitchen. If your party consisted of mostly adults there would be a seating issue as there is just a small sofa, a matching chair and an Ikea armchair that can be brought in from the extension which is really a short duration chair. Wasn't a problem for us but if we'd brought others it may have been. The first floor is a bunk bed room/bathroom and double bedroom (with views of beach). Bed was comfy and view was great. The upper floor is another double with a toilet/basin in a closed off room. Technically en-suite but not quite as glamorous as that sounds. We were comfortable there and settled in very quickly. The house is a beach house in the sense that it is a bit lived in. This isn't a bad thing at all and fits in very well with the feel of the area. The owner and the housekeeper were extremely friendly and helpful. We arranged our trip VERY last minute and they did all they could to help make it happen. Would we go again.....YES! see more
