“Lovely flat, magnificent sea views.” Four of us stayed here for a week with our dogs. The flat is really lovely - large rooms, comfortable modern furniture and a well-equipped kitchen. The only reason why it doesn't score 5/5 is because it doesn't have broadband (although I'm told that is coming soon) and because of the idiosyncratic water supply (water pressure isn't very strong unfortunately). The flat was very clean on arrival though no 'welcome pack', owner replied to emails and texts promptly. The view is amazing as the property is situated at the top of the 50' cliff and looks down on the sea. This means the light is wonderful and there is always something interesting happening at sea. We hardly put on the TV during our stay as we were mesmerised by the view and also enjoying sitting around the table and chatting. Broadstairs is very small. We enjoyed some meals out, beach walks and also a day in Ramsgate. The weather changed from dazzling sun to thunder and lightening and then cloud during the course of most days we were there. Judging from some of the stares we received in shops, pubs and on the beach latent racism and homophobia is sadly quite prevalent although some people were notably charming and helpful. All in all we had a nice holiday.

“Excellent in every way and fully deserving of a 5 star rating.” Impressive family holiday accommodation. Thoughtful welcome pack provided by the owners, Lynn and Colin Millen, Really well thought out use of space ensures that The Stable is comfortable and easily spacious enough for a family of 6. All facilities (seating, bedding, cutlery, crockery, utensils, pots and pans, glassware in ample supply and excellent condition. The Stable is on a working farm and the free range farm animals - sheep, cows, ducks, geese, hens - are part of the scenery. The owners, go out of their way to make sure their guests feel at home. Large flat screen TV and a good radio/CD sound system. Lots of CD's, DVD's and games to keep guests entertained and even a 'book swap' bookcase which I think is an excellent idea. Beds and pillows really comfortable. The outside patio is equipped with table and seating and even a BBQ.To sum up, nothing skimped anywhere and attention to detail evident in every aspect. Brilliant. Highly recommended. We will certainly be looking to stay here again when we next holiday in the Tenterden area.

“Fantastic” We were lucky enough to stay here on a long break. The cottage was immaculate and so well kitted out with everything you could need, just bring yourself. If you have mobility problems, you will have to drive to the beach. As you leave the cottage on foot, turn left for cliff walks and amazing views, turn right down the hill to the beach. On the doorstep is the Pine gardens, well worth a visit and the tearoom is fab . Wonderful location, beautiful cottage and lovely hosts, thank you Maria and Michael xx

“Lovely stay” We had a lovely stay here Pam who owns this bungalow, seems a really lovely person, although we haven’t actually met her. The bungalow was a real home away from home, so clean and comfortable and the little extra touches of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits left for us was really lovely. The park itself was very nice, the swimming pools sauna etc was great. The few staff we spoke to were very nice and helpful. The area of St. Margaret’s bay is really beautiful. I would definitely like to stay here again.

“Great property, great location.” We really enjoyed our week at the Retreat. We were lucky to get one of the best weeks of the summer but felt whatever the weather we would have enjoyed our stay. The property is centrally located, easy walking distance to the beach, pubs and restaurants. A lot of thought has obviously gone into the decor and fixtures and fittings of the Retreat and it shows - added to which the attention to detail makes this a very attractive property. We particularly enjoyed the welcome hamper, the complimentary toiletries and the comfy beds!

“Amazing” We stayed at the cottage for 3 nights, 3 adults and 2 children. The cottage is beautifully decorated, spacious and airy with lovely views. It has everything you could need and more, comfy beds, lovely courtyard and 2 parking spaces which are a must ! The owner was so helpful and accommodating and left a welcome pack which was a lovely touch. The location is spot on, 2 minutes from the beach, shops and restaurants. Would recommend Windy stores cafe for breakfast, harbour garden if you like sea food, neptunes pub for great views and birdies for a lovely dinner. I couldn’t fault anything about the cottage, we’ll be back !

“Like a home away from home...” It is not the first time we have stayed in this house and it will probably not be the last! The house is extremely well equipped and has the perfect location right at the sea-side but close to the town center so that any shopping can easily done by foot. We usually take back-packs for grocery shopping so that we do not need to move the car. Getting a parking space can sometimes be tricky during the day because Deal is a favorite spot to spend a day at the beach...It is very convenient though, that free parking is made possible near the house at all. Being so close to the beach is a real treat for us and having a drink while watching the sea seems to be the best way to end the day - and it is just across the street, a few steps away...The house offers enough space for a family, two bathrooms and three toilets are an absolute asset if you are travelling with teenagers! The kitchen is perfect and allows for ambitious cooking which is not always the case in holiday rentals. And, of course, there is always the view you get from the living room and the upstairs, so even if the weather is not so nice you can still enjoy the sea...

Kent holidays

The country province of Kent, England, encapsulates all the history and charm of the British Isles. Bordered by the greater London area, Kent is easily accessible, but feels miles away from the urban atmosphere of England's capital city. Here, country estates are nestled amidst rolling green countryside, while well-preserved medieval villages give visitors a glimpse of life in Old England. Often called "The Garden of England," Kent is filled with orchards, farms, and grazing animals.

Kent is a historic part of England, boasting some of the most well-known monuments in the country. The cathedral at Canterbury is a jewel of medieval architecture, built over the course of many centuries and recently inducted into the United Nations' list of World Heritage Sites. Built by King Henry II during the 12th century, Dover Castle is an impressive military fortress and a historic landmark. Travel through the Kent countryside to visit these and other stunning landmarks.

In addition to history, Kent is a wonderful place for a seaside holiday. Along the eastern edge of the county of Kent, the rugged coastline boasts some of the country's most beautiful beaches. Some shores, like the historic town of Hyde, are perfect for a romantic getaway. Other beaches, like the popular beaches of Margate and Broadstairs, are well suited to a family holiday. For butterflies and flowers, scenic views, and country villages, plan a hike through Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Some of Kent's top attractions include:

  • Knole House: Located in Sevenoaks, Knole House is a massive country estate, originally built by the archbishop of Canterbury in the 15th century.
  • Leeds Castle: Built beside a lovely natural lake and surrounded by 500 acres of greenery, this historic castle looks like the ones in fairy tales.
  • Historic Chatham Dockyard: Tour a historic submarine or historic warship at the shipbuilding yard in Chatham, which also includes a maritime museum.
  • Ramsgate: A family holiday town on Kent's coast, Ramsgate has a charming Harbor filled with great shops, pubs, and restaurants.

Get to know the real England with a holiday rental in the Kent countryside. If you are planning a romantic escape to Kent, seek out a cosy cabin in one of Kent's picturesque parklands, like the Blean wilderness near Canterbury. For the family, there's no better option than a comfortable condo by the shore in Whitstable, Broadstairs, or Margate. If you want to explore history, look for a traditional English home in the peaceful small town of Cranbrook.

Top notch family stay

The apartment was cozy, clean and modern. Great location, peaceful and quiet. Close to good hiking along the coast and nice pub at the bottom of the hill. The owners also provided some great recommendations for food spots wherever we went. … see more

Bijou and Very English

Very picturesque, quiet, well equipped, well located for tourism and shopping. Olde worlde inside but warm and cosy. Not good for taller people or those will infirmities as ceilings and beams are low, stairs are steep and taking a shower is not easy. There are also several trip hazards at doors. That said, once you know you adapt but it is not a modern house! We enjoyed our stay 4 stars because of shower difficulty.see more

Perfect house with great garden!

We stayed at Seaway as a family of 6 adults and 2 children, there was absolutely everything you could possibly need. The amount of books and games were incredible. My children were in their element. The garden was absolutely stunning, We loved spending the warm afternoons playing in the garden and looking out for ducks in the water beyond the fence! Sheltered from the cool wind too which was a bonus! The games room was a great addition and we had a couple of table football tournaments during the week! The kitchen was equipped with everything you could possibly need. We cooked most evenings after getting supplies from the nearby Sainsburys (10 min drive). Like many others have said, the photos don't do it justice, the house spotless and perfect for a family break.see more
Beachside Period Family Home. Spacious, comfortable & relaxed luxury.
Lovely House, Wonderful Location.

A three generation family gathering over a three night stay. Perfect location. Beach literally on the doorstep. Local amenities very good, all within walking distance. A short trip in the car expands your choices even more. We didn’t wander beyond the house and beach very much. A short trip into Folkestone was very nice for lunch and wander around the harbour. The main highlight was and remains Springhaven itself. Top grade facilities, spacious accommodation inc all bedrooms and bathrooms. The ground floor double was perfect for my ninety year old mother. There was nine in our group and everything is set up to suit that number at least. We were very lucky with the weather and spent a lot of our time on the spacious patio area. Like us, I’m sure you will find everything as described in the description. Couldn’t recommend this rental highly enough. The hosts were great and easily contactable both before and during our stay. Top draw in all regards. Thank you very much.see more
Little Star of the Sea
Perfect location

Perfect location, minutes walk from beach and town centre. Would suit more younger couple or single person as the bed is almost the same size as the bedroom so if your sleeping the wall side it’s a bit of a mission to exit for the loo lol. Had to disturb the Mrs if I wanted the loo in the night. Other then that a lovely clean, cosy flat. Could have done with another dining chair if you wanted to sit at the dining table for breakfast as only one in the flat. They do have 2 breakfast stools/chairs in the kitchen where you could sit though so wasn’t too much of a problem.see more
