“Great holiday in a lovely property” We stayed at the Mill House as an extended family (myself, my husband, my parents, my brother and sister in law and four kids under the age of 5). It is a lovely, spacious property in quiet location but within walking distance of the local village pub and shop in Brighstone. Positive points: Great welcome pack Lovely bedrooms which were spacious with comfortable beds and quality linen. The view from the bedrooms is delightful and it was particularly good to wake up to see the cows in the field neighbouring the garden. Lots of room for the kids to play both inside and out Plenty of toys and games to keep the children entertained - the 3 year and 2 year old particularly liked the jigsaws. Lots of room to park - great if you are travelling with multiple cars as we were. Negative points: We felt that the cleaning wasn't up to the expected standard in the bathrooms (some areas were a bit grimey so we had to wipe them ourselves), the kitchen cupboard doors which were visibly greasy, especially around the handles and the snug which was quite dusty in places. Not much cupboard space for food as all but one of the cupboards were full of crockery (even with ten of us staying we couldn't get through that much crockery). There is no stool for the piano and no music so it was a bit of a pretty ornament (shame as we would have liked to have used it). A TV in the main sitting room would have been nice as there wasn't room for all 6 of the adults to sit in the Snug to watch television together. I must stress that the negatives above we're only minor irritations and that on the whole, we had a great time. I would go back to the property in future years and would be happy to recommend it to friends.

“perfect place for family holiday” The location was amazing, the beach was 5 minute away. the house was neat and clean and spacious. the homeowner was quick in replying all of my queries. We were really impressed with the whole house layout. rooms were spacious, clean, they have few board games in the house which my 7-year-old son loved. I would highly recommend this place and for sure will book this place for my next holidays.

“Excellent accommodation - location and local people” Good walks at rear and front of the property on this dog friendly island. Property overlooks the sea with fenced green area (for Victoria cottages residents) where rabbits and children can play. In this area dogs must be on a lead for safety and hygiene reasons. Very short walk through this green takes you to the sea where dogs can wander freely. Walk to the left and beach is okay for sandcastles but nowhere is safe for swimming. Only two of us, plus dog, but cottage would comfortably house 4 adults. Very smart, clean and quiet. Only small fenced front garden if your dog is an escape artist but the wood at back has good trails that lead to view of Needles and eventually coastal path. We love the area and cottage .... BUT don't expect to find supermarkets in good supply. However there is a Co op in Freshwater. 15 mins walk into Yarmouth good for eating and tourism but quite small.

“A classic british holiday break” Myself, my wife and our 6-year old Springer Spaniel had a wonderful break here. Lovely cosy cottage, great sea location, and a short walk into Yarmouth town. We recommend this property without reservation

“Fantastic location, excellent appartments, great value” We booked this late over then Bank Holiday weekend, and were really pleased to find something, especially at this price. The photos looked great, but still don't do justice to the apartments or the views. It was amazing to be so close to the beach, literally 1 minutes walk, which makes such a difference when you have little ones with tired legs at the end of a whole day on the beach. (Also handy for the local CO-OP, probably a 3 minute walk from the back entrance to the apartments) Apartments were clean, and there were lots of nice touches. The lounge looked recently redecorated and we also clearly had a new sofa which was very comfortable. kitchen was well equipped for a holiday rental, and our children loved the coin operated meter. (As the apartment is just a minutes walk from the local arcade, which the children also loved - definitely bring your jar of 2ps from home! - we didn't find having spare pound coins a problem!) It was great to have a parking spot right outside, although we didn't use the car much. Be warned, the roads in and out of Ventnor are quite steep and twisty, but everyone drives slowly. Everything went really smoothly, it was hard to believe the owners had only been running the apartments a couple of months. The only thing that was missing was recycling facilities, and these arrived on our final day. There was also a nice collection of games and books which we dipped into, and a decent TV with sky, that we didn't actually turn on over the weekend, other than to check the weather forecast. Overall a great break and just what we wanted.
