“Perfect location, great space for a family vacation.” We recently stayed at Compass Hill house for a family vacation. We were a group of eight adults and one baby. It was our first time visiting Ireland and the house was the perfect home base for our many day trips and adventures. We had plenty of space in the house for our group, we all ate breakfast together in the kitchen on several occasions, loved the outdoor garden, and most of all appreciated the ideal location. We were able to walk to several lovely restaurants, to the water front, and to do beautiful scenic walks around Compass Hill. We did several day trips in the area and were always happy to come home for a quick refreshment before heading out for dinner.
The wifi wasn't always working, however it seemed like it was hit and miss everywhere in Kinsale, and the house wasn't as clean as it could have been, however our whole group would agree that we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this house for anyone with a large group traveling in the area.
“Absolutely perfect - house, location, views and attention to detail - loved it all” We have stayed in a various cottages in Ireland over the last few years but this is by far the best. Two of us and our dogs ( plus an overnight stay by my visiting parents - we thought we might have to throw them out - they loved it so much). The cottage is so well equipped - the attention to detail is excellent, they have thought of eveything. The dogs could get straight down to the pebble beach from the front door and the gorgeous Five Finger Strand beach is only 5 minutes drive away. Every room is really well decorated and the views are STUNNING !. Pay a visit to Malin Head point while you are there - and get a Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows from the very clever man with the Coffee/Deli van in the Car Park - its an expereince not to be missed! Can't recommend this cottage enough - if I win the Lottery I am gonna make the owners an offer !! A real gem.
“fabulous location , amazing scenery, georgeous cottage” We stayed in the beautiful Tearmon Cottage in August and we were amazed at the tranquility of the area, the scenery from the cottage includes views of Ireland's most westerly seaboard and Eagle's Island with its lighthouse.
The cottage is bright , clean and well equipped with 2 lovely spacious bedrooms,a large lounge and a seperate well equipped kitchen.
The cottage is surrounded by lands which are preserved as a bird santuary.
If you want to escape to a tranquil location where you can relax with views of the sea in a well maintained house then Tearmon Cottage is made for you.
We will be returning again next year and we will highly recommending Tearmon Cottage to all our friends
“B-E-A-UTIFUL” We stayed for a long weekend for a friends wedding. The house was lovely, quiet and compfy. Easily accessible, a nice little hide away in gorgeous Ireland. The house had all the necessary cooking items and compfy beds.
“just what we wanted, wish we could have stayed longer.” This house was great and Jason and Mary made us feel very welcome . I think it was only 25 yards to the lovely sandy beach that had some rock pool interest as well. We had our dog and she was made very welcome and enjoyed the dog friendly beach as well . We also found going into Dublin from the house was very easy . Thankyou and we hope to return .
Very helpful owners, very hospitable and friendly. The location is very good to visit highlights as Connemara , Burren, Cliffs of Moher.
Clean house, all very neat.

“Authentic Rural Ireland Experience” Tom and Tina Cummins are some of the most friendly and warm people we met on our tour through Europe. Tom was very willing to give us a full tour through the surrounding countryside and even to the venerable pub Annie Moore's in the nearby town of Doon. The house itself was a beautiful thing to behold, the original farmhouse on the property with a nice set of 21st century upgrades that don't take away from the feel of the place. The farm itself is still in operation, and Tom is always willing to have a guest accompany him on his daily rounds if they wish. All-in-all we were very blessed to have been directed to Mr. and Mrs. Cummins and their excellent accommodations.
“Adare Cottage is a warm welcoming home away from home” This is a lovely well appointed, house in a small quiet estate in Castletownsend. It is great for a family with children as they can play outside within full view with a pitch and small playground 2 mins away. There is a lovely sunny garden at the back where you can barbeque and enjoy the peace and quiet.
It is also a deceptively spacious house with 4 double bedrooms plenty of shower rooms for a large family and lots of books ,games, Tv s, Dvds and information on local activities provided.
Its location is great for exploring West Cork and all the lovely amenities around, the village has a great pub restaurant -Mary Annes which is very popular and welcomes kids. You are only a short drive to Skibbareen , Baltimore , Clonakility and Roscarberry all with lovely Cafes and shops!
There are loads of lovely beaches around and directions to get to even the most remote ones! The downside is that you do have to drive to most places and the roads are not great for cycling with kids but there are lots cycling routes around which we haven't tried.
All in all the Owners have gone to great lengths to make this a very welcoming and comfortable holiday home, a place you would want to return to again and again-and we have!
“Spacious Holiday Home in Ballybunion” Very pleasant modern house, within walking distance of beach and town. It was quite near the library, where there was wifi. Overall the house was spacious, and had a lovely kitchen diner. There was also a small utility room with washing machine and tumble drier. The sitting room had a comfy sofa and armchairs. The beds were mostly quite comfortable, with mattresses ranging from soft to very firm. It was great to have three bathrooms - the main bathroom was particularly beautiful. The garden was quite big and sunny with a table and benches, paving and plants. Ballybunion itself is a super holiday area, with fantastic beaches, evening entertainment and daytime cafes.
a friend recommend us to rent this house : it's a really nice, big and clean house. It's very well situated : not far from the village and not far from the see which is very confortable with children.… More
“Perfect house with stunning views and perfect location.” We had the best time at Brownes Farmhouse. Six adults and six children we enjoyed every second. Such a beautiful house with a truly wonderful feeling. Walked to a magical little cove and enjoyed the most amazing sunsets. Our children were given the freedom that we ourselves enjoyed as children. Loved Ardmore and Dungarven - perfect location...will definitely return.
“Excellent stay in Rossmore House once again” We love this house having stayed there for Christmas 2013. Load of space, very comfortable, well equipped, peaceful, ever changing stunning view. Murvagh beach is wonderful and plenty of facilities in Donegal town and nearby. Lovely coffee shop in craft centre in Donegal town. Highly recommended.
