“Our best family getaway for the second year in the row!” The service is excellent: fast, courteous and the always open, self serve office with all the amenities is one of a kind. The cabin (Illini)feels like "home" to us now.Very comfortable and cozy, and very clean and neat. The fireplace is always a big hit with our now 17 year old son. He loves to use his scouting experience. He starts up the fire in no time. We always loved the location: quiet, forested and close to all those awesome parks and scenic hiking trails people travel long distances for to see them and hike there. The close proximity to Starved Rock lodge and the town Utica with its quaint little shops is a also a big plus. What do I like the most? I like everything about Kishawau; the cabin, the staff, the location. What do I like the least? That we can not come more often. Oh, maybe the cabin can use a few more hangers on the wall (for coats, etc.) and more rugs (the tiles can be rather cold in the winter.) Thank you Kishawau for the good time we always have there!

“Cabin Birthday Retreat” Couldn't have picked a better place for 3 friends to celebrate their 25th birthday while meeting each others friends. Stayed inside to great food and drinks and the 2014 winter olympics. Furniture recently updated, cabin was more than spacious, even if you had 14 people. All the supplies you would need are located within the cabin and anything else you may need as far as questions or accommodations the owners were more than happy to assist with. Roads were even paved for us after a cold and snowy chicago winter. Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and secluded weekend getaway from the city life. Will definitely be back again!

“Kind of like potato chips...one stay just wasn't enough!” We found this gem after many attempts to book at Starved Rock Lodge. We were not expecting what we found at Kishauwau. The cabin was awesome. The setting could not have been more idyllic. Comforting, peaceful, quite, and private. Teresa and Jamie are outstanding hosts and were attentive and helpful in every way possible. We stayed one night in February and were so impressed that we booked a weekend several weeks later in March to celebrate our anniversary. If you like pleasant surprises you will find them at Kishauwau. If I tell you anymore it won't be a surprise, but I will tell you this. We will return to Kishauwau often.
