“Fantastic for families” We had the pleasure of staying in this luxurious villa in august 2009. We were sharing the villa with some friends and their children. In total there were 4 adults and 5 children and there was still plenty of room. The villa itself is simply stunning both inside and out. From the bedroom you can see the nearby lake and surrounding village. There is lots for kids to do in the villa itself with a games room, television, dvd and in the large gardens - badminton, swings and football and ours were never bored for a second.
The villa is also well placed for the loval mini market and Heulgoat is only a short walk away. We made a habit of walking to the village boulangerie on a regular basis to buy fresh croissants and baguettes for an al fresco breakfast. There are also a number of good walking routes nearby which offer splendid views of the local scenery.
We had a fabulous holiday and would have loved to have stayed for 2 weeks rather than the single week we booked. We will definately visit again in the future. The children still ask me when we are going back to the "French House", so it has made a lasting impression on the kids also. Highly recommended.
“Peaceful getaway!” We really enjoyed our time at La Petite Maison. The cottage is really comfortable and well equipped, quiet and peaceful, and is well placed for visiting all the coastline, and we had glorious weather. Malcolm was welcoming, friendly and good humoured. Would recommend it for a peaceful getaway.
We stayed at La Petite Maison for two weeks and had an amazing and relaxing time there. The House itself has everything needed too make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. It is well situated in a little Hamlet a couple of mins drive from Berrien which has a Bar and a Boulangerie and can be easily walked to. It is Close to Huelgoat which has more to offer in retaurants Bars etc and is also well located to explore the wider area of Brittany.
The other inhabitants of the Hamlet were friendly, it was always nice to get a wave as you drove or walked by. Malcom was a great help prior to arrival with detailed maps and directions and then when we were there was always up to chat if we bumped into him. We enjoyed it so much that we are already talking of returning. …
If you want away from it all - live in the country and absorb the area and scenery then this is ideal. It is rustic and basic but it works wonderfully. There is a log fire should you desire. Great location for exploring the area and base. Local village is lovely and brilliant croissants. …
