“Great Family Location” Very spacious surroundings for a family break, some nice walks nearby and of course just a short drive to some stunning locations. Just out the back is a super micro walk over the old lazy beds and the zigzag burn to the cliffs - perfect. The house more than met our physical needs, it’s very well appointed and easily accommodated our two families. The sitting room and kitchen maybe lacked a bit of atmosphere and could have reflected the island context more, but that’s a minor criticism of an otherwise lovely clean house, with lots of fresh linen and towels and all the kitchen paraphernalia you could wish for. And being 15 minutes from the ferry terminal made the late night arrival / early departure a breeze. Lewis itself is such a special island to visit, every time we come we come we fall in love with it a little bit more and there’s always another new walk to discover and explore (and I found an epic enamel coffee pot in a charity shop in Stornoway) - what more could you ask for?
