“This "Cabin" (beautiful home) and hosts were the best.” The "Cabin" is incredible and exceeded our expectations. Our hosts, Chris and his wife Carol were friendly and made our stay at the "Cabin" a great experience. The "Cabin" was clean and put us in a total state of relaxation on the first day. The attention to detail in the craftsmanship of this home was perfection. The location on the North end of the island is perfect. Hawi town is just 2 miles away with galleries/shops and many places to eat. You're also only 30 minutes away from the best beaches in Hawaii. Having stayed in previous trips in resort condo's, I can honestly say that the "Cabin" was by far our best experience.

“Comfortable, clean, reasonably priced, great location” Obviously, these ratings are based, in part, on how well a property and its owner meets expectations. Both the condo and Debbie exceeded ours. This condo is for people looking for a comfortable, well-stocked, tastefully decorated place within a minutes drive of at least half a dozen great beaches and all of Kihei's restaurants and shopping. We cooked most of our meals at the rental and spent a number of afternoons by the pool after returning from mornings at the beaches. When you are worn down afer the day, the fridge has plenty of ice for drinks, the couch is large and comfortable, and the TV looks great. Debbie is the perfect owner - there when you need her or have a question and otherwise respecting renters' privacy. If there is any "con" to the place I suppose it would be nice to have a BBQ on the back deck, but the association does not allow them. There are two large gas-fired grills at the communal cabana, maybe 40 yards from the front door, and we had no problems at all using them. There is Internet service in the condo but no wireless (a network cable to the modem is provided) unless you go to the cabana. That wasn't an issue for us, but I know others might go into wireless withdrawal. Those are really minor issues and I only mention them because I get tired of reading reviews saying "everything was perfect," because that is rarely the case. The beds are comfy, although the rooms are not large. The bathroom is big with a nice shower. Overall, good space for for 4-5 people. The complex is made up of several low-rise (3 storeys at most) buildings, probably built in the 1980s surrounding a large open lawn area and the pool. The mature landscaping is a great feature. We much preferred this layout to the higher-rise beachfront places on the beaches. Bottom line: We would and will return and highly recommend this condo if comfort and location at a fair price are of higher priority than beachfront and luxury.

“Excellent Value for an authentic Hawaii Experience!” My cousin and I stayed in Hale Kawehi for two nights. Our host could not have been more warm and welcoming. Kawehi made it clear she was available to answer any of our questions or provide advice; otherwise we had total privacy. Juice, milk, bagels, and eggs were left in the refrigerator each morning. The house is very spacious, with lots of rooms to explore. It is filled with antique treasures and unique, one-of-a-kind objects. The outside garden area is enchanting. There are also several outdoor seating areas; all lovely. Mr. Princess is the most friendly and loving cat I've ever met. He was a pleasure to have around outside. I had two issues which I feel the need to share. First, the local coqui frogs are quite noisy at night. I was fine because I had earplugs, but you should be aware of this ahead of time. Second, there was an odor of cat inside, although guests are asked not to let Mr. Princess in the house. Since we mainly slept there, it wasn't an issue. It might be, though, if you plan to spend a lot of time inside the house. All in all, my experience was positive and I'm very glad I stayed here.
