“Would be perfect, except for the grouchy neighbours” This is absolutely the best spot - great location - close to shops, close to great beaches, close to the pool, kids can run around on the grass out front...oh, wait, they can, but only if they are very quiet. The crazy rules of this place say you can't play any kind of games on the grass including bocce. And no floaties allowed in the pool! The only hiccup on our vacation was the numerous grumpy older people constantly reminding us of the "rules". The sound of kids laughing is definitely frowned upon by those who live there full-time. Having said that, I would go again, but with a firmer attitude that we will respect the pool hours for noise, but will allow our kids to have fun too.

“Very Pleasant, but, a little annoyed and disappointed” The condition and amenities of the unit were very nice, but, the design and layout of the kitchen was poorly thought-out. The space behind the counter is too narrow. Two people cannot work in the kitchen together. The Dishwasher door cannot be opened fully unless the two rear cabinet doors are opened, which means you cannot pass by the dishwasher with the door down. With the narrow space, the dishes, and pots and pans in the rear cabinets are difficult to access. And the glasses and cups stored over the refrigerator are difficult to reach and impossible for a short person. The counter needs to be moved out to flush with the TV wall, and, the rear cabinets need to be mounted above the rear counter. The mirror is a nice touch, but not needed, and infringes upon the efficiency of operation in the kitchen. Nice unit, but, because of the poorly designed kitchen, I would not stay there again, or recommend it to a friend. Other than those flaws, the unit is very nice.

“307 Kihei Beach Resort” What a fantastic view, with miles of beach to walk everyday! The service was fantastic, with a prompt, private greeter at the resort. The website photos are a perfect shot of the accommodations.The kitchen in the condo was moderately well stocked; however,it was outdated in every way from appliances to dishes. The only truly regrettable part of the unit, though, was the bedroom carpet. Quite disgusting with bleach dripped all along the floor, accompanied by stains and wear. We plan to stay at the same resort next year, but will choose a different unit if the carpet isn't changed.

“Home away from home” This unit was recommended to us from friends of ours. The unit was neat and very clean. All the kitchen supplies were great; beds were good and place was comfortable. The unit looked out on the beach and ocean. Grmorningview to wake up to every morning. Our family had a wonderful time and we look forward to visiting again. A big thanks to the resident manager and staff as well making our stay fantastic. Maloha!

“Paradise in Maui” The view was drop dead gorgeous! The condo was clean and big enough for four people. We loved having shops and restaurants across the street, so that after a day of sightseeing, we could park our car and walk to dinner and shopping. Other restaurants were a short drive away. Everyone dealing with the condo was very friendly and helpful. I would rent this condo again and would recommend it.

“Great location for beach and restaurants - you can walk to all!” Nice, clean unit. The kids loved having a TV in their bedroom for down time after snorkleing and diving all over the place! Beautiful reefs to explore right there! The only downside was proximity to the pool. It is right below the balcony and you hear everything. There were toddlers in there for a few days and we got all the noise (except our kids in their back bedroom watching TV!) When the pool is not in use the unit is wonderful. It is equipped with everything you would need.

“Comfortable home, with well equipped kitchen.” The Elua village is beautiful! We walked the beach path, and saw no other facility we would prefer. The unit we rented had a wonderful view and was comfortable, but we are a little picky and did feel the unit could have used a good cleaning. We were surprised how quickly the cleaning ladies were in and out each day and never really knew what they did other than replace towels and occasionally linens. The pool area was spotless with a fully equipped kitchen in the pavilion, and the grounds were immaculate. Truly a Hawaiian paradise with a beautiful beach and a gated area right off the beach equipped with cabanas for Elua village residents. Occasionally the noise from construction next door bothered us to the point where we were ready to call management, but it is difficult to complain about anything when you are surrounded by such natural beauty. We feel we made the right choice in staying at Elua village.

We will missu you!” It's addicting to wake each morning with such a spectacular view, easing ourselves into the day by reading a book on the balcony listening to the waves lapping on the shore. “Beautiful view, friendly staff, uncomfortable funiture” We have stayed at Makena Surf at least a half a dozen times. It's our favorite spot. This experience was truly enjoyable. The unit was clean, well maintained and the view unmatched. As the vacation went on we became annoyed with the the comfort and size of furniture. It is small, old, tired, and out of style. The cushions slip off the sofa and loveseat if more than one person sits on them. Our vacation nearly perfect, but can't sit and relax and enjoy the view! Patio furniture provided more comfort.

“Fabulous location right on the ocean and next to beautiful beach” Lovely condo with everything we needed right there. Main floor walk out to the pool and grassed area right on the ocean. Beautiful sunsets! Stores close, right across the street. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Condo clean and well decorated. It was a wonderful place to vacation. We'll be back!

“Can't beat the view!” Our condo was beautifully decorated and had the comforts of home, but the main reason to book here is the view! We watched the sunset from our lanai almost every night. The location is convenient and the owners are very friendly. Our only annoyance was the constant construction during our stay, which while necessary did drown out ht sound of the ocean :( I will definitely stay here again!! I also loved that it is small, so we never had screaming children at the pool or had to wait for chairs to lounge in!

“A beautiful view and an awesome condo!” Our trip included my husband, me, our three children(ages 15,12 and 8), and my husbands parents. There was plenty of room for the seven of us and we all enjoyed looking out on the water and seeing whale activity, sunsets and more. This condo has been kept up nicely and had many great features.

“Excellent Vacation at Makena Surf” The unit was well described on the website, but didn't do it justice. All of the furniture and appliances were in excellent conditions. The bedding was great. The view was incredible. The beach right outside the unit was idyllic. Enough people to make it interesting, but never crowded. The beach chairs and cooler in the unit were excellent as were the ground's outdoor showers. Swimming was good off the beach, as was the body surfing. Snorkeling is excellent in the morning. Saw up to 5 sea turtles at once. Lots of coral and fish also viewed. The location is excellent. The pool was clean and uncrowded. I could go on, but you get the picture. You won't be disappointed. The crew at ali'i were excellent. They recommended beaches, restaurants, and things to do. They provided an excellent guide book. Check in and out was a breeze. They also booked us a discounted luau one night. Be warned - you have to go up two flights of stairs to the unit.

“Another great visit in an alli'i Resorts-managed property” This was our third visit in a condo managed by ali'i Resorts at Kihei Beach and this was the fourth of their condos we've rented, since we rented a neighboring condo last year for our kids at Christmas. They've all been great and the service from ali'i Resorts is terrific. They're always attentive and meticulous both before and during our stay. The location is perfect, because it's in a sleepy part of Maui, away from the huge hotels but within easy reach of anything you want to see and do, and right on the beach. It's on the beach side of South Kihei Road. If you're into glitzy hotels, crowds and expensive restaurants, this isn't for you. But if you're looking for a laid-back, relaxing visit in a well-equipped condo 25 feet from the Pacific Ocean, call ali'i Resorts and ask about Kihei Beach. Check out the interiors online.
