“Luxurious and Practical!” Chalet Roc provided us with the perfect base for our Morzine trip. Walking into the chalet on the first day really set the tone for the whole holiday; the house is beautifully decorated with a classic, contemporary style. The rooms are all spacious and everything well laid out. Whether we were walking to the ski lift or in to town for an evening meal, everything was easily accessible and meant that we didn’t need to use our car for the whole week. We plan to return to Chalet Roc soon and will certainly be recommending it to our family and friends.

“Perfect base for getting to mountains” I stayed at Clos du Savoy last summer, during a week spent climbing in the mountains around Chamonix. My experience of booking and arriving was very positive - the owner, Stephen, was very responsive and helpful in advance of arrival, even booking a transfer to and from Geneva airport for me. Arrival arrangements worked very well (i was met by one of the housekeepers, although I understand there are new arrangements in place this year which allow direct access to the apartment using a code). The apartments is basic but comfortable, with a small but well-equipped kitchen, fold-down bunk beds and a decent-sized living area. The bathroom is perfectly adequate for one or two people - it has a shower but no bath, which is fairly standard for European rental apartments in my experience. The big balcony with views up to the Aiguilles was very pleasant for sitting out in the sun. The location is absolutely perfect - a very short walk to the town centre and about a ten to fifteen minute walk from both the Brevent lift and the Aiguille du Midi cable car, but in a very quiet location. Having somewhere quiet to get a good night's sleep was very important to me, as I was having some very early morning starts, and this apartment was perfect in that respect. There are a couple of nice places to eat just across the road from the complex - a decent pizza place, nice Japanese restaurant and a very pleasant coffee shop - and it's literally just a few minutes walk to the centre of Chamonix with lots more restaurants, bars, etc. The complex in which the apartment is located is well-maintained and has a nice feel to it - seemed like a mix of tourists and local residents, and everyone I came across was friendly. I thought the apartment was extremely good value for money, and nothing was too much trouble for Stephen, the owner, who was also keen to check afterwards if everything had been OK and to get feedback on what could be improved. I've booked again for a shorter trip this July, and he was kind enough to let me book for less than a week, which was unexpected given that this is in peak summer season. In short, a perfect base for a Chamonix holiday, with a very helpful and friendly owner, and extremely good value for money. I'm looking forward to going back in July.
