“This place is absolutely stunning !” We had the most relaxing break we have ever had. The nest was absolutely spotless, sofa and bed were extremely comfortable. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could need. The views are so beautiful we didn't feel the need to venture out much. We did have some leisurely strolls along the beach which was just perfect for us. Our only disappointment was that we had only booked a three night stay and neither of us wanted to leave ! We loved it so much that one week after our return we have booked a longer stay for next year !! Roll on 2019 !

“Great location” Highly recommend this property. Very clean, everything is modern and works very well. The location is excellent, very central to north Wales. Which makes getting around very easily by car. The host even gave us a very welcoming bottle of wine upon arrival. The area itself is stunning.

Home rental in Mawddach Estuary

Mawddach Estuary house

9 bedrooms • 5 bathrooms • sleeps 19

“Just perfect” We booked No 3 Mawddach for a family weekend with 18 of us with ages from 7 - 80, it was perfect, plenty of room inside and out for all to enjoy. The children enjoyed crabbing (supervised) and wandering freely on the hill at the back following the sheep and lambs around. The adults had plenty of room to talk, weather/water watch, read, and generally relax. There is also good wifi. The kitchen area is probably the best I have seen (including my own!) and has absolutely EVERYTHING you could want and more and it is all top quality, there are 2 dishwashers, a huge fridge/freezer and the hit of the weekend for the children.... an automatic ice dispenser! My only slight niggle was no microwave, but that is only because I use one to reheat my half finished coffee, no-one else missed it! The bedrooms are all big, with big comfy beds, feather duvets with lovely white linen and towels and we didn't even notice that they weren't en-suite, in fact the rooms would be spoilt by trying to add them. Bethany and Mark provide family games, fishing rods, dvds, 2 large screen tvs and lots of information as well making you feel that nothing is too much trouble. All in all I could not recommend No 3 too highly and we are hoping to return soon.

“Absolutely fantastic, perfect in every way!” We were attracted to staying at The Boathouse due to its location; its juxtoposition with both the beach and surrounding landscape seemed idyllic and on arriving we were not dissappointed. The adjacent beach stretches for about a mile providing a perfect walk in which to really appreciate the beautiful surroundings The Boathouses are part of. Although we didn't swim in the sea, we were informed by holidaying Boathouse neighbours that its depth is no more than around waist height, making it perfect for families with children. Aside from the vast beach, the region's undulating landscape provided for some great and sometimes challenging walks (I refer in particular to the steps that snake their way from the shore just outside The Boathouses to an altitude of around 100 metres). For those who do not fancy driving for their evening meals, there is a lovely pub within a 10 minutes walk of the property that serves fantastic food, a local convenience store can be found next to the pub too; larger supermarkets are within a 12 minute drive. As if all this would not be alluring enough, The Boathouses have recently been refurbished to an incredibly high standard, with seemingly no expense spared, real luxury! Everything required for a trouble free stay has also been thoughtfully provided, including a washing machine, dishwasher and fully fitted kitchen. Finally, but intrinsic to the whole experience, is the friendliness and helpfullness of the owner Kevin, who obviously has an increadible fondness for the property and area and genuinly exhibits a desire for his guests to experience its magic too; which they apparently do, as guests return year after year. We shall definately be returning. Thank you Kevin!

“Stag do in snowdon at plans dorothea” Stayed at plans dorothea in talysarn for 7 nights on an adventure week stag do. GREAT house, everything you could want with huge grounds including a quarry and lake and lots of ruins to explore. The house is fantastic inside, just what you would expect from a 19th century Welsh mansion. We spent the whole time in the bar room with its ingle nook fire, or outside on the patio area! You will not find a better venue/house to entertain yourselves. 6 people stayed during the weekdays, and 13 on Friday and Saturday. Easily accommodated all of us. Great base for the Zipworld adventures and walking snowdon, all events are within a 35 minute drive at most, and there are hundreds of mines, quarry's, mountains, caves to explore within touching distance of the house (if your into this...which we really were!). The local shops are a five minute drive away, which include four takeaways which were surprisingly good for being so rural (Chinese,Indian, pizza/kebab house, chippy). The local pub is also in the village, but you won't need to go there as you have your own bar! The house is also ideal for families, and I am definitely booking for next year or later this year with my brother and sisters families. Loads to do, excellent walks and unreal views from the house! If you have a kayak, take one, this area has everything from calm quarry water, to serious white water and everything in between! The stag is really into caving and mining, and this whole area is a haven for this...his quote 'the best mines he has ever seen and they are everywhere'. Hundreds of miles of tunnels. All in all this was an amazing week, worth every penny, and the organiser/landlord are very easy people to deal with that are very relaxed. Which made everything even better. I researched a LOT of properties before deciding on this one, and if you are looking at a few yourself, I promise you this one is the one you should pick. Private, reasonably remote, huge grounds and house, a lot of parking, relaxed house with amazing bar in the back room, great bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, good kitchen with everything you could need, and 2 dining areas plus a lounge with open fire (which we never used as lived in the bar). Ideal for group of men/women or a large family. And allows dogs (although didn't take one, but will next time for sure). Thank you plas dorothea for an amazing week!! Stu

“Amazing” This was our second stay in under a year and we loved it so much last time we stayed for two weeks. Just a beautiful cabin with everything you could possibly need and the most comfortable beds! The gardens are lovely, on different levels with little secret areas to discover. Right...the most obviously striking feature of this beautiful place is the view, it is simply incredible and hard to take your eyes off. Having a few drinks in the evening on the huge deck was a real highlight. The Llyn Peninsular is beautiful with amazing beaches, we used the local one in Nefyn the most, a great beach with car parking and brilliant swimming if it’s warm. The village has a small but well stocked supermarket, a pharmacy and a couple of take aways. The owner, Fran, is super friendly and helpful. It’s just fantastic...book!

“Delightful cottage and a bit of paradise” We had a warm welcome from Linda & some welcome gifts were left, a bottle of wine chilling, pint of milk, welsh cakes & jam. In the bedroom were white bathrobes & slippers & even chocolates left on our pillows. We arrived late in the afternoon so Linda made us her famous chicken tagine. The flavours were amazing & I even asked her for the recipe. Just what we needed after our 3 1/2 hours drive. The cottage was in the perfect location. Straight from the gate into the woods which our 2 dogs enjoyed immensely, beach was a 20 mins walk away. The Italian restaurant/takeaway "Tony's" was a 5 min walk and was excellent. The cottage was everything you could imagine from the pictures and the garden was stunning and well maintained. There was a 2 seater and an armchair which were both reclining. The chairs in the conservatory was most comfortable & we spent a fair time in there looking out into the garden. The hot tub was the icing on the cake for us, as we have had 5 dog holidays now & this property gave us all that we wanted & more. The wildlife in the garden which our dogs loved chasing the squirrels & we even seen a woodpecker. Thank you Linda.

“Idyllic - The perfect UK break” On arrival (after a very short walk from the train station) we found the house and let ourselves in with no problems at all - only to be absolutely stunned at how amazing this place is! The bedrooms are on the ground floor, the main bedroom looking out onto the garden and over the ocean - perfect for that 'sound of crashing waves' to fall asleep to. The bathroom was luxury (power shower- yes please!), and as we made our way upstairs we were left speechless, smiling like excited children. The lounge, a huge open plan room with an enormous sofa and TV, is light but cosy; a real home away from home. A gorgeous wood burner sits in the corner, perfect for snuggling up around of an evening whilst looking out over the beach. The balcony is the real gem here - we spent hours in the winter sunshine sitting out watching the sunsets - which are not to be missed! We literally planned our evenings around them! The kitchen is brilliant, very well equipped - we made a huge beef wellington with a lovely local piece of beef from the butchers on the high street - need I say more? We don't have kids but I'd say this place would be the perfect base for a family holiday - the beach is your back garden. We explored the local countryside and visited many of the local attractions but always looked forward to getting back to The Beach Retreat - it's not just a place to sleep. Lovely beach-chic decor- the place is decked out to perfection - light and spacious but warm and cosy - perfect for summer or winter! We'll be returning without a doubt. Thanks so much Ceri and Holiday Lettings for an amazing weekend.

“Great location” 2 families stayed which included 4 adults and 5 children between 11 and 13. Cottage was spacious and had everything we needed...well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and great utility room with washer/dryer. Courtyard garden sweet and private. Dinning room light and airy and we enjoyed lovely breakfasts and evening meals altogether here. We didn't have small children but there were 2 high chairs and stairgates available. There were plenty of games and lots of DVDs which kept the kids ebtertained! We all commented how comfy the beds were and linen and towels wonderfully clean. The only negative comments we had were on entering the cottage we all noticed the stairs had fluff balls in the corners of every step and furnishing were also dusty. The place is looking a little tired decoratively speaking, however woyld still recommend and thought it was still goid value. Great location for Black Rocks Sands, Snowdon etc and we didn't have to travel long to reach any of the sights. The village was lovely with mountains to explore virtually in the back garden! The Golden Fleece in the Market Square does lovely food and service always amazing. They also accommodated our lactose free child brilliantly offering to cook anything he wanted. Would high recommend a visit.
