Greece apartment or villa with dishwasher | Holiday Lettings UK
“Excellent Villa with one of the best views on the island” My wife and I booked this villa for our 'babymoon' - a nice, high spec location to get away from it all for 7 nights. We got exactly what we asked for with the villa being situated high on the side of a mountain but easily accessible by car (approx. 10 minutes to get from the villa to the major bypass outside of Nidri town). Evenings were absolutely quiet save the sounds of nature, complete peace for long sleeps.
The photos available speak for themselves so I shall say no more than they are true and accurate representations of the villa and its surroundings - no photoshop in sight. The view overlooking the bay outside of Gheni never got old, and we found ourselves choosing to spend our evenings swimming / having a BBQ on the large patio of the villa, heading down at night into Nidri as the mood took us.
The villa is on the east of the island, and whilst the best beaches such as Egremni are on the west, the drive around the south of the island (don't go north, not as pretty) was an absolute joy to drive - long, open winding mountain roads with the roof down and sun shining. Personally, I think it's better to be on the east as that's where the boats launch from (Nidri) and it has a better buzz although the south west of the island is pretty cool too. Anyway, that's for folks to decide for themselves but it worked for us.
Full disclosure - the first time you ascend the mountain road to the villa, it can be somewhat daunting if you've not had experience of such before. I didn't, but by the second day I was a pro and actually really started to enjoy the drive! Just don't rent / take a car any larger than a Suzuki Jimmy or you might run into some bother.
The villa itself was to a high standard of cleanliness, with the pool maintained regularly during our stay. Outdoor lighting was soft so as not to attract too many bugs at dinner, beautiful flowers and roses decorating the property. Shower facilities very good, wifi is solid and reliable (you won't be streaming movies, but fine for surfing and sending pics home).
The owner & contact on the island were both pleasures to liaise with, with no intrusion during our stay and very efficient checking in & out. The property has an 'honesty bar' which was very well stocked, and it's a simple request to replace what you take. Local amenities are 10m away at the bottom of the hill in Nidri, no bother. Recommend you hit up Carrfour either in Lefkadas or an express down south for higher value load-ups.
Anyway, we loved it and were very glad to be on our mountain away from it all, but only a short drive to the action when we wanted it. We'd both recommend it - just make sure you're ok with driving up a mountain (really it's no bother - just fair warning).
“Wonderful views!” Sharon and Leigh have thought of everything in this villa. Our first villa holiday and it was fab. Beautiful views across to Zante and of Mount Ainos (definitely worth a drive to the top too for the views around the island). There is everything you want there and you know beforehand which helps with the packing immensely :)
Sharon and Leigh are fab on communications too, so there are no worries. Pool man does a great job too. Thank you!
“Gorgeous villa, breathtaking view, spacious and welcoming” This villa is absolutely beautiful, and the pictures definitely don't do it justice. The inside is cozy and welcoming, and the outside has a view that will simply take your breath away. Situated close to town (15 min. walk) and the beach which was extremely convenient. Would definitely recommend this villa and would love to go back!
“Great place to stay” We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Sophie, and our contact with Joy by email and Costas in person. After 3 hectic weeks of travelling the villa was a haven. Gennadi is a lovely town, and the villa is well-located for exploration of the whole island. Our initial difficulty finding the villa and getting the key to work have probably already been fixed by updating instructions for future tenants.
“Brilliant holiday” Just returned from a brilliant holiday, staying at Villa Isadora. There is so much to compliment about our stay from the excellent information received from the owners to the warm welcome we received from Dimitri & the high standard of the villa & pool. I would recommend this wonderful villa for a holiday in Kefalonia & hope to return very soon.
“Terrific apartment with superb views” Excellent apartment with everything you need for a relaxing holiday, roof top terrace with furniture is excellent for quiet sun bathing, choice of 2 pools to cool down in.
A car is required as there is nowhere close enough to walk, but Makrygilios is only a 10 minute drive away with some lovely restaurants and beaches with beautiful clear water.
“Sunny Crete” We stayed two weeks in August in Azure Beach Villa. Everything was like owner said - very good equipped and tidy.Obviously we had the swimming pool for ourselves.
The nearest town is Kissamos with supermarket "Carfour" where you can do shopping cheeper than in local shops. In our opinion the best tawrnas are: "Babis" with playground (it is in walking distance) and the smallest - family one (it's exactly described in villa book). You certainly wouldn't be dissapointed choosing Azure beach villa for vacation.
“My preferred holiday home that i should book in advance” I must say that this Villa is the most perfect holiday home. You are in a wonderful location with a wonderful view that is quiet during the day for that perfect sunbathing experience with a pool that is safe for old and young alike.
The villa has everything you need of a modern family home back home in the UK with the advantage of the sun outside your front door every day (on both visits in June 2011 & 2012 not a drop of rain)
Tsilivi is a wonderful resort with plenty for all the family with a great beach again with plenty to do without being over crowded.
If you choose you can walk into town down the hill and on the flat it takes around 20-25 minutes to get to the resort centre at an average pace although you do get a couple of bars to pass along the way, the first being the Balcony hotel 30 yards from the villa which is also great for lunch or an evening meal should you choose.
For the return journey home in the evening my wife and i would walk back to help burn off some of those holiday calories but my mum and her friend who joined us for one week took a taxi back from the central rank each night for around 6 Euros or if it takes your fancy negotiate a rate with the horse and carriage drivers.
At all times our deposits and payments have been looked after with great care and we have every trust in Caroline, the pool is cleaned every other day by Mike and along with the support from Anne and her local team you have everything you need to forget about weather and work back home.
Unlike me this year just get your booking in early
“A peaceful haven” Villa Rhapsody is very tastefully furnished, with lots of extras which you would expect in a good quality hotel. The second bedroom is a mezzanine so it is more suited to a family of four than 2 sets of adults. We travelled with out 2 daughters in their early 20's and they were very comfortable. It was very clean and the pool was a pleasant respite from the heat. We spent a lot of time outdoors but the lounge area was very pleasant. Villa Rhapsody is very near to the hustle and bustle of Platanias but once through the gates you wouldn't know. Can recommend Cosmos restaurant which you can see on the hill from the pool. Take a taxi as it is a long walk! The owner Yioulia was very pleasant and spoke excellent English. She was there if we needed her but not intrusive. The owners run a bar near the premises but we never heard it even though it was open until 5.00a.m. It opened at 10.00 but we never made it there! Lovely villa.
